I'm just curious how new moulds and their sculptors are chosen I know that quite a few of them are reintroductions of vintage or HOTY moulds. But what about completely new ones (like Donkey Foal, I believe)? What's the process of choosing new moulds? Also, how the sculptors are chosen? Would it be possible to donate a Julip-styled sculpture to make a new mould? I'm just curious, but I won't lie that sculpting something that would end up as a Julip would be an honour

In the case of the Donkey, Annabel wanted a new donkey model because she loved the old one, and commissioned an artist (also a Julip-lover) to make her. The Connie and the Cob Mare came about because there were a box of old bodies at the warehouse and I managed to persuade Annabel to recast two of them, ditto the TB (unfortunately never managed to get her to agree to the other bodies in the box or the last HOTY but we're getting there thanks to Laura!) I made the feathered cob variation and again managed to have Annabel cast it. Pester power! (It took a long time let me tell you...)

You can cast a solid model, they just get broken when the mould is made

I might actually give it a go and try doing something Julip-styled and then see if it's accepted Btw, Christine, I'd LOVE to get a Julip pony on such mould! <3

The donkey was modelled in plasticine! You're joking! Plasticine is my least liked stuff to sculpt in, so respect!
