I've just about caught up with rugs for my newbies now - never had this many arrive in such a short space of time! But I didn't want to make the same thing over and over again so the rugs are a bit more varied than before. Pumpkin's orange headcollar and felt/gingham rug (thanks very much to Elli for the gingham fabric stash!): A padded fleece-lined rug for Coral and one of those bright coloured headcollars people seemed to like when I was a kid: A fleece for the new Connemara (he still needs a name - it takes me SO long to choose names...): Another padded rug, I think this one might be my favourite I've named this one Autumn because I think it suits her colour. My new farm cob has a rug too now but I'd not finished it when I took the photos, will have to put one in once they all start demanding tack and headcollars and other accessories and I have another batch to share!

Oh these are amazing! I love the felt and gingham rug, and how did you quilt them? They look great! And your headcollars are fab! Love the name of your mare

They all look so cozy! The green trim is really sharp with the yellow. I'm also in awe of the quilting!

They look so nice and neat, really well made! I know those multicoloured headcollars you mean, weren't they called 'harlequin' ones in the Robinsons catalogues? You never see them anymore, it's a shame they're gone (like Roko buckles and real brass! )

I'm sure I've seen a few in catalogues so I think they're still about, just not as popular! lol
I really do like that two tone one at the beginning - I've never managed one of those before so I might have to give it another go...

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments! The quilted ones I sewed by hand, I wouldn't dare on plain fabric but the gingham makes a useful pattern to follow EG, I've made two two-tone ones now and I'd say stick to felt as the backing fabric... I made another with fleece but it's not nearly so neat to work with, and the edges don't look so smart where there's no hem.

Ooh, lovely comfy rugs! There's just something about making rugs for your Julips isn't there? Putting the finished article on its new owner and seeing how cosy they look... Can you tell I'm a rug addict?? Must have a go at the two-tone effect as well, great idea!
