I've been really lax in introducing this lot with one thing or another but I've finally got photos up of them all. XD
(I have to stress that I didn't buy them all at the same time - the first I'd actually agreed to buy before Christmas but didn't until mid Jan/Feb I think.)
Anyway, moving on...
First up is the very lovely Spats, who came to me from Hazel. I rehaired him and made him a nice little 'leather' headcollar with proper etched buckles and hardware, as opposed to my usual bent wire ones.

He's got a really attractive face and a really striking stripe too. I added the pinking and ear fuzz which finishes him off nicely.

I've got a rider for him but she needs a lot of work before she's ready to ride. She's going to be an older lady, in her sixties or early seventies I think who won't put up with any nonsense, but Spats will give her plenty of cheek so they'll be very well matched!
Second, we have the very lovely Finn. (or Finnegan, whichever you prefer ) I managed to nab him from a very popular batch of spares and I'm SO glad I did as he really is beautiful. He was my very first horse from 'new' Julip and I don't think I could have picked a nicer example to start with.
I'm going to have him as a Welsh Cob as I've seen a couple of really nice roans he looks similar too. I added the pinking and ear fuzz, as with Spats. The mohair he came with has to be the softest in the world, and I had him next to me at the computer for a good week just so I could stroke it while I waited for things to load. XD (It was a nightmare to style though, in true native type fashion it just wanted to go OUT and not lie flat, lol)

The bridle is his own but the saddle and pad belong to someone else, although I'm not too sure if they're getting them back any time soon...

Two coblets.

Next up couldn't be more different - cobs and hairy native types have always been my favourites so I don't have many of the Arabs and finer types. When I saw this lovely lad pop up on the spares page however, I just couldn't resist! I love liver chestnuts and well, yeah, I just needed to have him.
Named Oberyn in tribute to one of my favourite characters from Game of Thrones (I got him just after watching *that* episode ) I couldn't resist making him a fancy halter once I'd styled his mane and tail. I can't do anything more complicated than the usual three strand braid so it's just two of those sewn together at the back. XD I may add some fancy charms to it at some point but right now I quite like it plain.

I wrapped his tail tightly with thread while it was still damp and left it for a week in the hope it'd hold in place and look like a higher tail carriage. It did work but doesn't last. If I was going to rehair an Arab in the future I'd make an actual tailbone on a pipecleaner and stick the hair to that.

The next two came together from the same home. Rach on MHL very kindly gifted them to me as they were her last two Julips and she wanted them to go to a good home. She included some of their tack and rugs and a handler/rider as well! She's a little tall when compared to my other figures but I think I can get away with it.
Pyro was her first Julip and has started to go pretty stiff so he's going to be designated as a retired riding horse, now a companion so he doesn't have to do any work. I have a Flame coloured Arab Stallion (Ptolemy) but I've never had an actual Flame model so he's really nice to have.

I never really liked the synthetic hair that used to be used but this blonde stuff is lovely and soft so I just cut it and feathered the edges and I don't think I'll ever need to rehair him.
The rug he came with was a little big for him but it was only made of felt so I was able to trim back the edges and now it looks great.

He came with a friend - Talisman, who, being a Family Horse and skewbald, ticked all my favourite boxes.
Unfortunately, he was going a bit tacky as some Julips do, so I gave him a gentle wash to see if that would alleviate things and some of the brown on his hindquarter started to peel off! I've bathed plenty of my Julips before and would never scrub at the paintwork or anything so I've no idea why it happened here. Anyway, I couldn't hide the fact that it had come off as it was rather inconveniently in the middle of a patch so I decided to go over all his patches and add a little shading which, I have to say, looks pretty good. XD (and as a bonus, he's no longer tacky, yay!)

You can just about see the edges of the peeled bits on the right here.

I can't remember what his rider's name was originally so suggestions are welcome! She rides better bareback as her legs don't splay quite as much as I'd like, lol, but I think she could make a good sidesaddle rider...

Finally we have my most recent acquisition from the Lakeland Live, tentatively named Quinn. (although I'm not sure it's going to stick - suggestions for him too please! Ideally something that would link back to the Lake District or Fells.)
He's a Mustang with an altered headset and I have to say, I absolutely love it; it totally changes the feel of the mould!

Here he is next to his mould-mate Laufey (who is probably wondering why his bridle has been stolen - sorry Lauf!) so you can see the difference the dropped head makes.

I'm having him as a young Andalusian or Lusitano gelding and would like to make him some nice spanish/historical tack at some point...
His mane and tail were truly WILD when I bought him so I'm working on a tutorial for the forum on how to style your Julips using him as the example.
I came back from the Lakes with him and a little dog in tow - introducing Bruce!
