Do you have a website or blog featuring Julips? You can leave the URLs here, and this post will build into a nice little list of the Julippy community's online presence, a little like we used to in the 'good old days' with our individual collector sites and links pages. What can you link? ANY model horsey website or blog you've got is fine, it doesn't have to be Julip only - a lot of us collect other brands as well. It can be a gallery website of your collection; a public photo album on the likes of Flickr/Photobucket/Postimg/imgbb etc; a blog updating on new arrivals or things you've made; or your fictional yard presented as though it were a real one - whatever you've made and however you've styled it, that's fine. No social media profiles, or groups, which you have to be a member of to see, that's not fair on anyone who isn't registered and not in the spirit of a Links page! Don't post websites or blogs which are about totally random off topic subjects, please No-one will mind if you have pages on your site about your real horses or pets, for example, or if you also post about some other creative/model hobby like dolls miniatures or art or model railways, but this isn't the place for a fashion blog or advertising your online shop. Links with no model horse content on the other end will be regarded as spam and deleted! Let's all share our links, and have a wander round each other's collections

I really resent geocities, I used to love looking round everyone’s websites but I must’ve spent hours and hours on yours and Elli’s websites - and I still think to myself “I’ll just check that on Elli’s website... wait, it’s not there anymore!” I am an avid follower of your new blog though My Julip website is julipstacey.wix.com/julips it’s due some updates but there’s still lots of lovely Julips to drool over on there if I do say so myself

They took so much from so many niche hobbies the world over when they cancelled that free hosting! My own current links are harecrofthorses.weebly.com/ for my main website, an archive of my whole collection divided up by brand, scale and finish, with one best photo per model or my blog at harecrofthorses.blogspot.com/ which has more pictures per horse and a lot of model-related rambling, but runs based around new arrivals/customs as they happen, not a full back-catalogue gallery. So it's up to you which you'd rather browse, if you're bored in lockdown why not sit and scroll through both

Great idea! I’d love to have my own website for my Julips, I always wanted to set one up but I am clueless when it comes to what host to use! Any suggestions for a techno-phobic person just starting out please?

I use Weebly, they have a completely free option (I don't know whether free accounts are limited on what total volume of picture you can upload, but I've made a site with well over 1,500 models and not hit the limit yet!), and cos it comes with an online pagebuilder you don't have to know ANY coding or have any experience to make a website look decent. You can use a template site picked from their selection, and customise the colours and fonts to make it more 'you', and to put pictures, text, captions etc you just do a drag-and-drop thing to arrange them on the page. I'm not technical and get very frustrated with things I can't understand and don't want to invest time in learning, and I've found it easy from start to finish

That’s how I feel too, I’m not very ‘computer-y’ and have no wish to be but as long as I can load pictures on with a bit of text, that will do me nicely! Thanks

I have a little site for my Julips made on blogger - I've decided I like to play with html a bit, even though it's not something I know a lot about herring-horse-julips.blogspot.com/I'll probably add my other models too at some point. I also have Instagram bloggy thing I add to from time to time - technically, you don't need to be registered to see it, but it will promp you to log in if you scroll down past certain point, and you need to open each post in new tab to be able to see/read it. So I don't know if it counts as completely public, to be honest.

It would be lovely to get this back up and running, this and george's forum used to be my favourite sites to go to for all things Julip

I have a website which is mainly presented as a fictional riding school somewhere in the Lakes/Dales region but also has a section for photo stories and the customising I've done. maisiemou.wixsite.com/meadowsideequestrian I've used Wix website builder - it's fairly easy to use and it's free.

I'm in the process of putting my personal collection up on my site, The Lab Rat Tango, this includes my Julips, other model horses, dollhouses, and dolls. The home page also has links to my other model history sites - Julip ID, Counting Magpies, Many Mini Hooves, and coming soon - The Rubber Tree, which will document the other latex model horse brands.

I can still access it and the nostalgia looking through all the posts from all those years ago. I really do miss the forums. I like Facebook but it really isn’t the same and doesn’t have that same ‘feel’. Maybe I’m just getting old’er’

I’m also in the process of slowly building my weebly site. It’s just a collection log of all bendy brands I own. If and when it ever gets to a stage I can publish I’ll post the link here.

I finally have a website to post. It's just a basic model horse collection overview and a blog for any future model horse crafty projects. Here's the url: emsminis.wixsite.com/collectionStill kinda miss having my old Mumbleswan Equestrian 'yard' site so I'll do my best to get a mark2 version of that online as well. By the way, I can definitely recommend Wix for anyone out there toying with the idea of building a site as it was blessedly simple to use and linked seamlessly with Flickr for editing/uploading images. It still took aaaaaages though. I can't imagine how long this stuff takes for people with literally hundreds of models!

I'll have a look around your model collection now, and look forward to Mumbleswan Mk2 whenever it happens! I forgot to add my new site on here - I haven't lost or stopped updating my other one, but I decided I'd really love to have a version where the models are sorted by their breed rather than brand/scale/finish, so I made a second site! harecrofthorsebreeds.weebly.com/The Julips are on there, but you'll have to hunt to find them - not all of them are filed under the breeds their mould names suggest!
