With everything happening in the world at the moment I thought it might be nice to hold a mini photoshow. I want to keep it small scale and limited to just the one class so that I won't have loads of items to send out as obviously I have no idea what the situation is going to be like regarding getting things posted in a few weeks time, but I will give a rosette and a very small prize for both the winner and the reserve. This is totally free to enter but if people would like to make a donation to a charity I support which currently is trying to get extra supplies of food to various animal shelters in several countries which may otherwise be shortly left without food due to the coronavirus quarantine, it would be very nice. It is not obligatory in order to enter the show however. If you do want to donate to them though you can do so to them directly through their website Harmony Fund
This is open to all Julip equines (HOTYs and Originals) and Julip animals (pets and wildlife) and the theme is 'my favourite Julip'. Photos can be added to this post or can be sent to me by email (PM me if you need my email address). Only one photo per person please. If you'd like to add a description about why the model is your favourite that's great. Both scene backgrounds and plain backgrounds are fine, as is the inclusion of riders/handlers of any brand or make, and equines can be wearing tack or without tack. I'm going to leave this open until April 10th.

I've to admit: it's so difficult to pick just one favourite: I love all my Julips! That's why whenever there's a favourites-class I pick someone else! In my mind I have a little storyline for each of my Julips, that I often use as inspiration to make them something. Right at this moment I'm having lots of fun working on another Peaky Blinders-inspired project: the 1920's Epsom Derby tent stables. The last couple of weeks I've made quite a few pieces of tack and especially Wolle's Oxfordshire has been my number one help and therefore he deserves a go at this show! I picked him up two years ago at my very first live show and really adored him lots. He's really perfect to make tack for and has his very own criollo and racing set. Here he is when he was modelling his racing saddle for a little tutorial video I made! Such a good boy!

Thanks for holding another little show Laura! My favourite is always Jack. He's a very sentimental portrait of my old pony and the Julip version really captures his character (when he was in a good mood!). It was also the start of the slippery Dartmoor slope... P1040745 by Stacey Stacey, on Flickr

Thank you to everyone who has entered so far. Just to say that while I can still get to a post box to send small items at the moment, if by the closing date it's not possible/practical/safe to post anything I'll still announce the winner and reserve then but I'll hold onto the rosettes/prizes until it is possible/practical/safe to send them.

Coimbra. She is a portrait of a mare I used to ride and who everyone else hated (there's always one!) She ended up being moved out of the stables and I have no idea where she ended up. She was also my first Special Order, and her Julippy self is just drop dead gorgeous

Oathlaw Galahad (aka Jaime) always makes me smile. He's got such a jolly, goofy face - I gave him a fancy name, but he never answers to anything but Jaime.

This is Tango, my first ever Julip. She is 46 years old. I was a pony-mad but pony-less youngster who yearned for a pony. I will forever have a crystal clear memory of sitting up in bed on my birthday morning, unwrapping this parcel from my Dad. I will never forget what I saw, and the sheer magic, wonder and amazement that I felt when I revealed the incredible contents - Tango, with saddle, bridle and head collar, saddle rack, haynet and rug, and Susan her rider. All accompanied with the unique, unknown at the time, Julippy-goodness smell. She was my stairway to Julip Heaven 💝 image url

I struggled to think of a favourite (hence leaving it so long to enter!) because I've got so many I really love, ones whose colours came out perfectly, ones which are beautiful, ones I'm really lucky to own - then I thought about it differently, which Julip would I grab in an emergency if I could only take one with me? This is Rosetta Rosie might not be the prettiest pony, she's not clean or tidy or any good for showing, her mane looks more like moths have been at it than anything that could possibly have been made that way on purpose, but she means the most to me out of all my herd as she's my own custom portrait of my horse of a lifetime. Every speckle on her nose, every flaw in her fleabitten coat, that's what makes her lovely, to me. Real Rosie once met the mini Rosie, and that makes her even more precious.

Willoughby is my favorite Julip! He was my first Julip and from the moment I saw him, I knew that he was perfect. I think his expression is so sweet and I love his beautiful color. He has become even more special to me because I bring him with me when I travel, so he's been to places like Niagara Falls and The Kentucky Horse Park. I also love the fact that he was my introduction to collecting Julips! FullSizeRender (5) by Hannah P., on Flickr

Thank you to everyone who entered. As always it was really difficult to pick a winner, all of the models are lovely and it was so nice to hear the stories behind why they were picked to enter this too. But after a lot of thought I have decided that the winner is George's Rosetta and the winner of the reserve is Samantha's Tango. Congratulations to both of you. I will try to get your rosettes/prizes sent off as soon as possible after easter.

Ahh, I'm so pleased for Rosiepony, it's so nice when a much-loved portrait is enjoyed by other collectors too, even though none of you met the real one. Congratulations to Tango, I liked her story too, and everyone's really, it's lovely seeing how much Julips mean to people, they're somehow that bit different to a first model of any other brand.

Ahh congrats! What a lovely winner and reserve! I bet it was difficult to judge, there were so many lovely Julips and fantastic stories to choose from! Enjoyed seeing everyone’s entries!

Here's Rosiepony enjoying her big shiny rosette, thanks Laura! (Real Rosie would secretly have preferred a cheese sandwich to a rosette, but the model one has never nicked my lunch at a show yet, so let's assume she's better behaved!)

Tango would like to say thank you so much for her rosette and prizes, it’s a long time since she won anything and is very chuffed! 🥰
