Jen and I went out last night and when I was dropping her off she insisted I must have a look at her remaining horses that were in need of new homes. I'd said I might buy one, as Jen owed me a bit of money for food and gig tickets and it's so much easier to settle debts between friends with Julips instead of cash, right? I mean, I was doing her a huge favour, so I couldn't possibly have said no. The fact that I came away having bought two more horses than planned wasn't through any fault of my own, I was forced into it, it was utterly unavoidable. The two dogs that came with them must have jumped into my pockets or something in place of my money, that wasn't deliberate either.
(we all joke about Julip thieving but quietly leaving someone's house at 3:30am with handfuls of Julip goodies definitely felt like a rubber horse robbery!)
First up is a Hunter He's very handsome, still had his plastic mane-wrap on and smells like a proper new Julip! I like his splodgy face markings, he looks very kind and quite sensible
Second is a Child's Jumping Pony, who looks like he's been in the wars a little bit with a few small scuffs. He's not badly damaged, but they're just a few light marks. I reckon he's been out jumping hedges!
The final horse is a first for my yard - a Mustang! I really don't like these when they have the open mouth and the filled-mouth version isn't one of my favourite moulds but I knew I wanted one in my collection, I was just waiting for a really nice one. He's less shiny really than he looks here. I think he'll be joining the queue of horses I need to rehair because his tail isn't very nice at all - it's that newer synthetic hair and it's not nice and silky like the older stuff. I found some grey mohair the other day actually, so he might end up with that at some point, although the bald horses I already have waiting probably ought to get priority!
Lastly, I seem to be making a habit of not being able to buy a horse without buying a canine companion for it...two dogs I didn't have a liver spot dalmatian before and his face was too funny for me to leave him behind, and his friend was unusual and Jen was teasing him for being a 'roan dog' so I thought I'd better take pity on him too
