Hello all,
I was talking to Laura and realised that I haven't officially done a post mentioning that I'm now married! I changed my relationship status on Facebook but didn't announce it as such, so I'll put a post here
So yeah, I'm now Mrs Davies! We had a small ceremony (me, my husband (eeee! Husband!), my mum and her partner, Bob, who gave me away) in Doncaster last month. We wanted something very quiet, intimate and really just about us (we don't subscribe to the massive wedding thing, I appreciate some people may like that but most weddings I've been to end up just being one-upmanship 'so and so had a chocolate fountain' 'well I had five!'). We also don't really have much in the way of family which made things easier.
So we ended up in the Vulcan hangar at Doncaster! For those who don't know, the Vulcan is a Cold War jet, a huge triangle shaped bomber that saw action most notably in the Falklands. You can see her at www.vulcantothesky.org if you want to have a look. We're both big aviation geeks (military aircraft, rather than commercial airliners) and the Vulcan was the first plane I really saw properly (and Rob laughs when he remembers me ringing him on my handsfree on the motorway 'OMG the Russians are invading, there's a big triangle aeroplane here!') so we decided to get married beneath her!
I've attached some pictures of the day, our photographer was fairly natural; he doesn't do 'posed' pictures, and this really confused my mum...he'd been taking pictures of everything so you get the memories of what you wore etc, and she leaned over and prodded me and said in a loud stage whisper 'psst...he's taking a picture of your make up bag' then she kept grinning at the camera and I had to explain that he was trying to catch natural pictures!
