We are proud to announce that we have just finished adding the final touches to our latest spares batch. This is the first lot of Julips produced since the introduction of our new paints, so we are looking forward to hearing your feedback.
As is now somewhat tradition, this latest batch of spares will be available for purchase on Sunday, May 1st at around 7.30pm. Please remember that to purchase a Julip spare, you must first register to the J-Club Forum.
After you have a user account, it is simply a matter of posting a ‘buy’ comment below any model listed under the Spares for Sale thread thread that you are intending to purchase; in the interest of fairness these models are sold on a first come first served basis and can be hotly contested, you might have to be quick on the mouse to catch that perfect pony!
If you are successful, we will then contact you through a personal message to arrange payment and postage.
Regrettably along with this most recent change of materials comes a change in the prices. Over the past ten years the cost of materials used to produce the models have risen fairly dramatically while the prices have remained the same. Our goal over this and the coming years is to greatly increase the number of models we are able to produce on a regular basis, but to allow for this we must unfortunately address this balance.
As a result the new prices will be as follows:
Horse: £56.50 Pony & Donkey: £54.50 Clydesdale Foal: £32.50 Yearling: £29.50 Donkey Foal: £24.50 Foal: £19.50 Riders: £36.50 Cats, Dogs & Foxes: £6.50 Doves & Pheasants: £4.00 Rabbits: 3.00
When ordering a Portrait or Special model there will still be an additional £5.00 charge; customization (such as feathering, wired necks, dropping heads) also still carry a £5.00 extra charge. Please note that Portrait and Special orders are still not available for the time being.
We hope this will be the only change to the prices for the foreseeable future. If you have any questions or thoughts in regards to either the latest spares batch or the change in prices, please don’t hesitate to let us know below.

Yay! Disappointed about the price changes but it's understandable.

Can we still order animals currently? I stand no chance of getting a spare so I may as well order some of the animals I want if we can do that still.

We are still able to take special orders for animals, as the paint for the little guys hasn't changed. As far as the spares go, our main goal this year and onwards is to greatly increase the number of spares we are able to produce on a week by week basis. Hopefully that will reduce the rush of spares night, even if only a tiny bit.

I came back to Julip collecting 10 years ago and this is the first price increase since then - pretty much everything else in my life has gone up in price a lot more frequently. Considering the huge amount of time and effort that goes into the models, they're still amazing value for a handmade product!

SPARES! And I'm actually off work! :-D Now to see if I can be free at 2:30pm (my time) in order to try for a model. I'm not optimistic and should save my money anyway, but I can hope...

Great news that we can once again drool over some spares on Sunday! I think I'll have to sit on my hands this time as we've just paid for our holiday and have got Robyn's birthday coming up (unless of course she wants to add to her collection....). To be honest I'm amazed the prices have stayed the same for so long. We all know how labour intensive they are to make and all of your hard work and creative talent to bring them to life. I don't mind at all about the price increase! Just keep doing what you do

I also collect Equorum models and the Julip price next to those are very inexpensive. I understand fully the increase and as Jan said first time in 10 year. Like everything else you cannot afford to price too as its a business. Cannot wait for the new models I know the mold I want just cannot decide on colour at the moment

It would be nice to get a spare this time but the broadband was so bad last time I missed out - and we've just managed to catch the little semi-feral cat that's been living in the garden (trapped him in the kitchen, everything went flying in his panic to escape but luckily he bolted INTO the cat carrier once cornered!) for that last 2-3 years and he is currently at the vet to be neutered tomorrow so I've got an unexpected vet's bill to pay tomorrow.... so maybe no spares this time....

Oh that's really good of you to get him neutered though! My mum and I are both trying to persuade separate sets of friends to neuter their tom cats.

We have been trying to catch him for a long time - we think he was dumped in the nearby park when barely more than a kitten. He's very wary but does come into the house to steal our cats' food and we do put food out for him. He is the third one that has turned up in the garden that we have given a home to - the one with us at the moment just moved in gradually! I don't think Spottycat will ever become a fully fledged house pet but he's welcome to stick around. Our vet is being really kind and keeping their fees low - but still the cost of a new Julip!

Exciting news about the spares! and like the others, I find it more than reasonable that you should increase the prices. I'll be at work all day Sunday til 9pm but I'll look forward to seeing them all once I finish. It would be nice to try and get one as a bit of a 'hoorah' as I got paid for the first time today!

can you order Julip with the new paints yet Laura? As having a think what colour to have as decided on breed I'm really sorry but we're not taking any orders for the horse and ponies at the moment, we will do a separate post to notify everyone once we get the orders up and running again, although you're more than welcome to order any of the animals or riders, as they haven't been affected by the paint change.
