Here's my new arrivals, by the time we got to the show almost all the spares had been snapped up already, but luckily there were still a couple left that I liked and weren't too similar to any I had already, so after dithering between two for a while, I settled on the ID (Josie bought the other one, so I know both have found happy homes!)
I like his medium dappled grey colour, about in between my other two recent dapplies in 'age' because he's lighter than Echo the arab, but nowhere near as pale as The Grey King the TB...who actually thinking about it can't be that recent cos he was done by Hazel (ok, I just checked, he's from 2011 )
The dark mane and tail really go nicely with his dark points, and the ear-edging I had to add because he got rubbed on the way home actually does look fine, like it was always there, and on purpose, heh
You can see his ears better there, I did an EG on the middles of them and added a little bit of dark for a fluff effect, cos they looked kind of odd with black edges and pale insides.
I'm trying to think of a good name for him, I'd like something to do with grey or silver - not just for his coat colour but because of the rosette colour theme for this year's anniversary being silvery grey and metallic ribbons.
Of course, I couldn't come home with just a horse and no new pets - again loads of them had been snapped up before I'd arrived (spares in person is just like spares night, mad rush to be first-come-first-served ) but I found this adorable little dog still waiting for a home :
The long tail really changes the mould completely, it's already called the mongrel but usually looks very Jack Russelly, with a different tail he looks more of a mixture and could be lots of things, but I'm thinking maybe a Dachshund x Jack Russell cross
I've named him Woody, for a bit of a silly reason : the other day I spent a couple of hours stacking loads of dead wood onto a trailer at the stables, and the yard owner gave me a fiver reward, so I took it to the show and as the first pet I picked up, this one gets to count as the one I paid for with the money I earnt throwing wood about
I was also lucky enough to get some fox cubs :
They're going to be called Edward and James, after the two Fox actors, but I haven't decided which one's which yet
With my sitting fox Freddie - I just need to get one of the new-paintjob running foxes to complete this family, but I'd like to get some other colour variations too
I picked out some more bunnies :
I was going to call the one on the left Dylan, after our lovely old garden bunny, but having got him home I realised he's too dark to be a proper lookalike-bun, Dylan was more the shade of a ginger cat, so I'll have to get a lighter one another time, and give this a different name The one in the middle is Jim, after my old house rabbit who he matches perfectly (well, did once I gave him a white tail!), and on the right is Dwarf bunny Truffle, after one this size and colour I had when I was at college.
I thought that was it, but during the afternoon ended up looking at the animals again with a few other collectors, and was tempted by adding an Irish Setter to my little pet-collection, only to get talked into having both of them so they wouldn't be split up and feel lonely
I didn't have either of these dog moulds before, I think I actually like them both more 'fluffed' a bit with the long hair effect than I do with the smooth coats, it gives them so much character and really suits being a setter type breed. Neither of them have names yet, I want it to be something recogniseably irish but not in a stereotypical borderline-offensive way
