I went to the show hoping to get an Arab mare from the spares - several had been snapped up by the time I got there, and the first one I spotted was a bay so I grabbed her and hung on... There was also a beautiful dappled grey one, but my last two newbies were both variations on grey so I talked myself out of that one. My first ever Julip purchase in the 1970s was an Arab mare so this second one is extra special. I'm calling her Renaissance.
I just had to have some bunnies and got the last of the pheasants.
Almost at the end of the day, I wandered over to have a last look at the few remaining spares. The spotty Sporthorse from a previous batch (which I'd looked at several times before) was looking a bit unloved and I was warming to him more each time. Somehow I let Laura talk me into giving him a home... I've called him Prince because he reminds me of a big spotty horse I rode a few times at the riding stables I went to in my teens.

She's really a pretty one, I think you did get there before us! I almost got the dappled grey you liked til I remembered I had a vintage one in dark mottled grey with socks and dark hair, so she went back a second time, I wonder who did buy her in the end!

Didn't Samantha buy a grey one? Think so - one of the greys came home with me but there was a darker version that I think she bought

Awww I'm so glad you got the spotty! There was something quite endearing about him. Lovely Arab, they were all so pretty I had a tough time choosing.
