I have done plaits - made from embroidery thread. You just knot and individually secure each one into the mane slot. Easy to get them even as well as you knot them all the same. E.g twice or three times etc. br] Anita ( riding horses) is brilliant at it, she told me how to do it .

I found the mohair I bought had short staple length so after doing the glue bit a lot of it came out and wasn’t very thick. I had some wavy longer stuff which was much better so I’ve ordered more of that!! Definitely needs practice but by the time I’ve done a few more hopefully it will improve. Looks so much better than the synthetic hair!! I’ll try and work out how to post a pic!!

Thank you for the tutorial. I had a go this week. Not happy with the short staple length mohair I bought. Most of it fell out and was very wispy. Found some wavy stuff in my box which worked better. Have now ordered some dolls hair longer staple length which hopefully will be better. Persevere with getting the old hair out. For the tails you have to pull very hard. Using pliers on the hair and starting with a smaller bit first helped to get it going. I’ll try and put some pics on
