I thought you might like to see the bolts and hinges I created for my stable doors when I started to make over my stable block. The bolts are made from beads, small pieces of metal sheeting and thick wire. I used two small cube shape beads glued on to a small piece of thin metal sheet for the part that attaches to the door and the bent wire and a different shaped bead for the bar part. Obviously the holes through the beads need to be big enough for the wire to pass through. I used superglue to stick the beads on the metal which isn't bad but won't stand up to a great deal of use so I think it may be better with something like epoxy glue but I hadn't (and still haven't) got any epoxy glue so it had to be superglue. (Not shown but I used another bead stuck to a smaller square of metal for the other part that the bolt slides into) The hinges are mini metal hinges, the type you get for small things like trinket boxes and that sort of thing. These are attached on to the door with the screws provided. But to make them look a bit more like stable door hinges I used strips of thin cork (thin plastic or thick non-corrugated card would work too) with those tiny silver circles or 'studs' (they are slightly raised, not flat) that are sold for nail art I believe stuck on to mimic additional screws. I painted both the hinges and the bolts with black nail varnish which is a lot more durable than the paint I have. A more or less completed lower stable door: The metal protective strip on the top is cut from an aluminium food tray, folded and glued over the top edge of the door. The 'screws' are tiny silver nail art studs glued onto it. (Actually I do have kick bolts on the doors too but I don't have pics of the making of those)
