Over the last few weeks I've churned out SOO many new rugs for my Julips and tried out some new styles and designs. Using some tips from the awesome Desktop Stables blog they now have a bit more shape to them than my old quilted rugs.
Bertie was first to get rugged up in a cranberry shade:

Tom was next on the waiting list and I tried out a new style using two colours of cotton.

Ginger was next with a nice summery combo of pale green and yellow. Depending on how much energy I had at the time some horses also got a matching headcollar and twisted rope.

Des got a classic combo of royal blue and red - plus a matching saddlepad:

After doing so many rugs for the bigger moulds I decided to grab a pony next. Dot decided she liked this pretty pink floral from Hobbycraft.

The next rug was a real experiment and based on the rug my old horse used to wear. Thanks to his voluminous ginger mane the neck cover doesn't look quite right on him.

It sits a lot better on Des

Next up was another experiment based on those fancy velvet show rugs that don't strike me as being suuuuper practical... Fortunately I don't have to worry about Sonnet getting poo stains on this one. The fabric is a gorgeous short-pile velveteen.

The last one I finished up this weekend was for Ringo my handsome bay cob stallie, who also got a new in hand bridle. I love this funky 70's style print!

I am on such a roll with these I'm starting to wonder if I might actually get all 20 of my Julips rugged up this year!
