Time to run another mini photoshow. This is open to Julips and Magpie Models but the theme this time is 'creativity' - show me the things that you have either made for your models or the items for your models that you have heavily customised/modified from an existing item. So things like tack, riders, jumps, stables and other yard buildings, pet accessories, etc. Anything you've either made from scratch or have extensively modified from the original item. Photos don't have to have fancy backgrounds or be full scenes or anything, they should just have at least one Julip or Magpie Models equine, rider or animal in along with whatever the things are that you've made/customised. Maximum 2 photos per person but more than one homemade/modified item can be included in a single image if you wish. Prizes: full size rosettes for winner and reserve. I'll probably think up some little prizes too. This is free to enter but as always if you would like to donate something in lieu of entry fees then these are some of the animal charities you could donate to: Tia RescueFour PawsThe Mare and Foal SanctuaryThe Harmony FundWorld Horse WelfareInternational entrants are fine. Closing date: March 21st To enter you can add your pics in a reply to this post or submit them by email (please PM me if you need my email address). If anyone wants to post about this on the Julip or whatever else Facebook groups that's fine.

This looks good, Laura. I probably will struggle for time to enter but I’ve just shared it on the Just Julips Facebook group for you, directing people to PM you on here for your email address or for more info. Hopefully that helps to get some more entrants and I hope the winning pictures will be posted for us all to see ☺️

IMG_2487 by Helen Davies, on Flickr Here's two items; I was kindly gifted a wheelbarrow from Pam a while ago as the handle was broken, so I ran with it and decided to embrace the broken handle! I drilled, pinned and glued it then wrapped some tape around the handle for that authentic look then I filed the sharp edges to make it look more rounded like real wheelbarrows, and then made a mix of brown acrylic paint, sand, cat litter and glue to rub on the metal parts to make it look like a very old wheelbarrow! I painted the handles with red nail polish so they'd look like those shiny rubbery handle sleeves that a lot of wheelbarrows seem to have. The rider (Sarah) was one from a while ago, I can't remember where I bought her from, but she had a big baggy felt jacket that just didn't look right, so I made her a more snug felt jumper. Because my sewing skills aren't great, I stuck leather patches on her shoulders and elbows (like those posh Barbour jumpers ) and then to complete the look, well, she had to have Hunter wellies, didn't she? That was just tiny scraps of paper glued on!

Reminder that there's now 2 weeks left to enter this. Also just to say, the things you're entering don't have to be new/made specially for this, older items/pics are fine so long as it's something you made/modified.

Just under a week left to enter this (I only have a couple of entries so far so you've still got a really good chance of winning something).

Here's the Harecroft Henhouse (it's a couple of years old now, but must be the last building/prop-type thing I made cos I haven't been feeling the right kind of creative since then!)

Thank you for organising this Laura! Here are my entries, I find sewing relaxing and enjoy hoarding craft supplies so all the ponies have storage pouches: And about 2/3 of the ponies have home made rugs too:

Final reminder, not long left to enter this now (you can submit entries all day tomorrow though, so really you have until early monday morning to get entries in). Has anyone emailed me any entries? One or two people seemed to want to but I don't think I've received any email entries yet so if you have done so please check that I have received them.

We've been following an Arab trend lately. We started with a costume for Adler the Julip Arab, along with a redressed dolls house person as a handler. Another difficult contest to judge, all the entries were great and it was really nice to see a variety of all very different homemade and modified items. However the winner is.... Kits's lovely colourful assortment of rugs and the runner up is dawnith's fimo western tack set Congratulations to both of you (can you make sure I've got your name/address to send your rosettes and mini prizes to) and thank you to everyone who entered.
