I've seen kinetic sand for sale in The Range and Hobbycraft for anyone who is looking for a non mail order source. You do have to sort through the pinks and blues to find the 'sand' colour though!

If you can get your hands on it the stuff they use for real horse footing in high end show jumping arenas is even better - it holds together like the sand but looks better

If it helps I prefer the cheaper stuff. Not the cheapest but the medium cheapest if that makes sense Called Motion Sand sand. Feels better and cleans up better. Half the price too.
