This child's jumping pony just arrived. From the same ebay seller as the eventer I got. Unsure of a name but I also got the halter, a blue rug and saddle/bridle set. I've given the rug to the eventer cause it matches her eyes.

Isis is a beautiful name though which existed and applied to multiple other people/things long before a group of bigoted murderers tried to misappropriate it. It needs to be reclaimed back from them.

Hmm I'm not sure on that name. Here's the definition:
noun, Egyptian Religion. 1. a goddess of fertility, the sister and wife of Osiris and mother of Horus, and usually represented as a woman with a cow's horns with the solar disk between them: later worshiped in the Greek and Roman empires.

Isis was (or still is; lots of people still seem to worship her) one of the more significant goddess figures and associated with lots of other things like magic and healing, rebirth/resurrection, protection against evil and with the star Sirius. Also there used to be a brand of latex models called Isis so there is an older connection to rubber horses.

Thanks, you just gave have him a new name! Sirius. Although I don't like to change 2nd hand ones too much especially names, Isis is more suited to a female and I feel this ones more male. I will note his original name down in my book for reference though!

That's a good name, I like it - and how it's linked to the old one. I'm like you and try to keep old names if possible, but a related name seems ok if you want to swap to a male one. I find the problem comes when you have one called a certain name already and have to decide whether or not to change the new one to something else (that's why I have two called Miranda - I named my first one, then got bought someone else's Miranda second hand, but cos she was from a friend not some random ebay stranger, I already knew the horse by that name and couldn't change it!)
