Jan, Caitlin and I are very pleased to announce that the hall is booked! The Hulland Julip Live Show 2016 will take place on Saturday 9th April 2016
The show will take place at Hulland Ward village hall. It is quite spacious and modern and has plenty of car parking and has good disabled access. I will supply better directions nearer the time but the postcode is DE6 3EG. It is approximately a half hour drive from the M1, you would come off at junction 28 if travelling from the north or junction 25 if travelling from the south.
A lift may be able to be arranged for a limited number of people from Derby station if anyone needed to get a train - it is about a half hour drive away. If this applies to anyone then you're welcome to PM me to discuss
The local area is lovely for anyone wanting to stay (I'm local and would happily be a tour guide and spend a day with anyone wanting a touristy day out on the Sunday after the show!) - it's right on the edge of the Peak District and Carsington Reservoir is a two minute drive from the hall, which may suit people's parents/partners who want to go off and explore while the show is going on! I can recommend local hotels to anyone interested, the nearest Travelodge is ten minutes' drive away in Ashbourne, and there are lots of campsites/caravan sites very close to the hall. There is a local shop just a few minutes walk (two minute drive) from the hall and there is also a pub, which would be ideal if anyone wanted to stay for a drink or some food (and a good natter!) after the show.
We will arrange something nearer the time for this, so if anyone is staying locally or doesn't need to rush home then it would be lovely to see you (and any family/friends/partners who have traveled to the show with you!) after the show for some pub food (we've done this at Stacey's Lake District live show the past couple of years and it's been lovely!).
The show entry fee will be £10. I'm not sure what our limit on numbers will be but if you are definitely interested in coming then please get in touch with either myself, Jan or Caitlin (Kits on the forums!) - obviously it's quite a way off yet so there's no mad rush to sign-up and pay but payments will be required up-front to secure a place (PayPal or cheque please!).
The schedule will make an appearance nearer the time but expect a fun Julip show with a relaxed atmosphere! Julip Originals and 'HOTY' models will be welcome, there won't be any classes for other brands of models but everyone will be welcome regardless of the size of their Julip herd
There will be a sales table set up at lunchtime so anyone wanting to rehome any model horses or related items will have the chance to do so
We will also have a raffle at lunchtime (donations of prizes will be very welcome!)
Basic refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits, that kind of thing) will be provided but please bring your own lunch. There is a garage shop in the village and I believe it's open on a Saturday but I couldn't guarantee it! The nearest shops other than that are a ten minute drive away.
I think that's everything for now, hopefully I've not missed out anything obvious! Any questions, just ask on here or send one of us a private message and we'll be happy to help We'll post more details as soon as we've got more organised, just wanted to make sure everyone knew the date as soon as possible so that you can all put it in your diaries We're all very excited and hope that we'll see lots of you there!
