Do the nowadays HOTY models have mouth slits? I've been tempted to buy a HOTY or two and customise them "a bit". I'd just like to know what to expect. Also, does the epoxy stick easily to whatever they're made of?

Also, does the epoxy stick easily to whatever they're made of? The two most recent moulds don't have mouth slits (the ones like 'Dandelion' or like 'Silver Mist') but the previous moulds do have open mouths. They're plastic but a solid slightly rubbery sort of plastic - they aren't poseable but the legs can be flexed a tiny bit, there's some 'give' to them, if that makes sense (not like a Breyer). You can customise them and use milliput on them, etc., but they're quite different to anything like breyers if you've got experience of customising those.

i have just bought Dandelion last week he has no slit in his mouth. Yeah, those later moulds don't. The earlier ones that do have an open mouth have a permanently open mouth though, it's not like Originals where the mouth is only open when you put a bit in it or something, so it's not just a 'slit'.

Question to those, who have customised/resculpted a HOTY.
Do I need to do anything particular to the surface of the model before using an epoxy, or should it stick to the model without problems?
Also - what method do you recommend to paint such customs?
(I had a crazy idea of asking Laura if she could paint a custom for me using paints she uses for painting Originals XD)

Just use acrylics. The paints used for the originals has to be flexible to move with the rubber they are made of, and not split/flake when they bend, but that's not the case with a customised hoty
