One of the nice thing about running Julip is having a whopping choice of vintage moulds that we can re-introduce into the range. Whilst rummaging through some of the archive bits and bobs I stumbled across a model of the vintage Highland and Shetland.
While we would intend to eventually re-cast both (if there was enough interest to do so) we wondered if you would like to be part of the decision as to which one gets re-cast first by casting a vote in the above poll. (I know some people were after getting the Fell re-cast and I do have that in-hand but it won't be for quite a while yet, as the model I have needs a bit of work doing to it before it can go to the mould makers) but one of these two would be able to be cast and be ready over the next few months. Here are some photos to help you decide. The Highland is the one on the left and the Shetland is on the right.

Both, but I'm leaning Shetland at the moment! If the Highland looked more, well, Highlandy, I'd prefer that. XD

Neither. Not a fan of those moulds in general... My vote is Fell (not helpful, sorry!) Yay for new/regenerated moulds though!!

I'm with Pinkmouse here, I'm really not a huge fan of those moulds - at least not as modern Julips! I have vintage ones of each which I really love, but somehow the sculpting style doesn't seem to fit in well with the current moulds. Too sausagey bodies, too blobby ears, tiny faces, and more bulk than definition. These two (like the others presumably by the same sculptor, the Horse In Action, Showjumper, old arab, show hunter, etc) are ones I'm happy to have in my collection as part of Julip's past, but probably wouldn't ever buy a new edition of!

Shetland please! I know neither are really perfect but they have such character and I would still love to have both.

Out of the 2 I prefer the highland but I agree about the blobbiness and head size

Shetland I think though I agree that neither are great representatives of their breeds.

The shetland! Now I can have more little ponies apart from my pit ponies!

I agree with George regarding the blobbyness, and while I'd much rather the Shetland had a bigger head, I think it could get away with being modernised more than the Highland.

Yes, I'm mostly with George and EG, but I'm not hugely keen on the pit pony as its head is just too long, so Shetland gets my vote as I'd like a few little cheeky ponies!

I think both moulds ideally need some added feather to look like the actual breeds but none the less would look very nice!

Draft horse? Of these, I'm more likely to order a Shetland.
