I've made up my mind and decided that when I evetually buy my first Julip Original it'll be a portrait of my favourite pony mare, Magia. Her breeding is 50% German Riding Pony, 25% Arabian and 25% Mur Insulan (I know only that it's some Hungarian breed). A few of her photos: below: the one further back: I've been thinking of Mule mould with modified, shorter ears, but I've found only a handful of photos of this mould. Could anyone help me a bit and share some photos of a Mule?

I don't have a mule so I can't help with that but maybe a welsh cob would be more fitting? Because the mule is pretty much just the welsh cob with a modified head/ears so if you want a horse version of the mule, that basically is just the welsh cob. Also as soon as I saw that top pic I thought welsh cob mould, she seems to have a relatively delicate and dished face. The mule's head has always looked kind of, well, blobby/blocky to me (which was so disappointing to me when I first saw it, because I'd have loved to get a nice Julip mule).

I agree, I'd go with either Welsh Cob or Arab Champion .

I somehow didn't think about Welsh Cob when I've been thinking of the model of her! I've just checked the photos of this mould, seems to be the best for Magia Arab Champion is great but I'd like this model to be quite small - AFAIK Magia was registered as a pony, she was also the smallest horse in the stable (apart from a Fjord and a Konik). Arab Champion seems to be too big for a pony from what I've seen on photos I loved that mean, stubborn creature, I'm probably gonna end up with a few models of her of different scale and make XD I haven't seen her for a few years now, as I stopped riding. I'm not even sure if she's still alive - she's been sold almost 2 years ago but no one knows where to She'd be 18 this year.

If it makes any difference to your decision, side by side the Arab champion and Welsh cob are basically the same size.

I think the welsh cob looks smaller than the arab champion even though they're about the same size, maybe because the arab champion seems horsier and not so ponyish (also the arab champion has a thick neck too; I don't think personally that mould would suit her). Though one thing against the welsh cob for a mare portrait, the mould has, um, 'boy bits', but I did order one as a girl and Laura cut/buffed the 'bits' off for me.

Another mould that could be suitable for her - how about a Family Horse with slightly dished face? Does anyone have a comparison photo of FH and Welsh Cob?
