I thought we better have a new topic for discussing the results and showing everyone the lovely prizes the lucky winners got, people who were organised enough to get photos from the classes can share them here too but my poor camera sat unloved in my box all day (apart from a brief pass-around of cute-real-pony pics at lunchtime, lol) so I've nothing useful to show what it was like in the hall! Here's my star of the day, Starri-Brisgyllin the Norwegian with the unspellable name I had to keep writing down for people, lol He was reserve champion in the moulds section, and doesn't he look smug with his lovely big rosette! Other horses who did really well with multiple wins or placings were Reuben (usually getting an 'aww, Rubes!' from me whenever he picked up a rosette cos he's such a favourite little pet of mine, lol), HMS Surprise who some of you saw me painting at the UH Hullabaloo a couple of years ago, Stardust the palomino CJP, and good old William the shire who got into section championships both on his own and with his long-lost twin Benjamin belonging to Elli. Lots more got a win or placing, which I won't list cos you'll be able to see them in the official photos soon anyway (thankyou to the very efficient and dedicated photographer who did his job for the day very well!), and for every single placed horse we got a neat little card to fill in with the class and name. I always like these cos they make a great souvenir of the day and make the little rosettes or ribbons more meaningful cos there's a record of what horses won them! The rosettes themselves were double-layered Julip ones, perfect for tying on the horses or displaying on their stable or shelf at home, it's brilliant when they get a prize they can keep like that Here's my herd's winnings, the rosettes will be dealt out once the horses are out of the boxes later today!

I was fairly hopeless with my camera but had a wonderful time! Great to see you, meet new Julip folks and admire the latex ponies. I have yet to upload the few photos I did take, but here's one of my two purchases of the day. The hunter is from Tania; he's one I tried to resist but am ultimately very glad I didn't! The donkey foal is my first and was a spare, he matches a vintage donkey mum I have perfectly, and he's very cute. I've decided to name them after Oxford colleges - the hunter is Merton and the donk is Brasenose

I'll upload all my pics tomorrow when I'm back in London with my laptop! Nice to see your little fjors with his big posh rosette, it was so lovely to have such luxurious prizes! And I love the little Julip scale rosettes too

I'm just uploading my photos, I was too busy chatting and making excited noises about Julips to take many though I sound like a stuck record but it was just lovely to meet everyone at last, put faces to names and play Julips for a whole day... not to mention be "enabled" to buy not one but THREE horses by Elli, hehe! Georgie I saw something on Facebook earlier about a custard -flavoured spread for toast and immediately thought of all the Custard-the-horse, custard-the-sauce confusion he'll have to come next time so we don't all sound crazy asking about custard!

Elli is terrible when it comes to spares - how many did you end up with at the Northern live again?

I had a fantastic time at the show too, and as I have said before it was lovely to finally meet everyone in person. After spending literally the entire day trying to tidy up the incredibly large mess which I managed to create in my bedroom (which by this morning after just dumping all my boxes on top last night when I got home was so bad I could just about get to the bed but not the wardrobe or drawers and it was difficult getting to the window to open the curtains xD ) due to last weeks frantic attempts at speedy tack and fancy dress making attempts, I have managed to get a few pics of the fantastic rosettes which my lot won yesterday Benji Poppet Minstrel New boy Trajan... ... and new girl Dotty Well I couldn't walk away from the spares table empty handed could I?!?! xD I do wish I had managed to nab a pheasant or 2 though, they were all gone by the time I got there

Had a great first Julip show. Loved the mini rosettes the horses got so you can added them to the tack room or stables no pics yet as still working out my new camera.

Here are my photos from the day, not so many and a slightly random coverage of classes/photos of the room but maybe of interest! s23.photobucket.com/user/kitsmodels/slideshow/Julip/Oxford%20Live%202014Some of my favourites: Pairs class! I was so excited to find pairs: Goldie and Bob reunited - these two are portraits of ponies where Elli and I used to ride, they used to live next door to each other until Goldie died about 8 years ago now (aged 42!!!) so it was nice to see them "back together": And my table because I'd not had a table at a live show before and I was all excited about it (you get the picture - I was excited about pretty much everything):

I'm liking your walking Arab more and more every time I see it!
Your table is so neat - mine always looks like a bomb site at every show. >.<

Hehe I think it was only neat because I hadn't got a scene class entry in the end - I kept knocking the table by accident too, knocking over Josie's donkey and whole tracts of Elli's collection D: SO glad that none of them were damaged! I was being so careful every time I sat down by the end of the day!

I was being so careful every time I sat down by the end of the day! I was guilty of that too, had about ten minutes at the start of the show where I repeatedly kicked my table, the spares table and someone else's chair - accidentally, I promise!

I'm glad it wasn't just me that accidentally caused a domino effect then! xD

That's one good thing about Julips - unless they're old fragile vintages - for the most part, they'll just bounce!

I like that you can start to see the bombsite that was my half of the table on the left.. why did I take so much random unnecessary stuff? I'll get round to putting my pictures up eventually..!

I finally got all mine back on the shelves yesterday evening, and put all their little rosettes by their feet. I've even managed to make enough space for adding two more, so I think it's time to place an order

Hahaha, any excuse for more! I put in my Christmas order the other day as well. It was supposed to be a 25th birthday present to myself but I left it a bit late (it's next week, LOL) so it'll have to be a Christmas prezzie instead! I think Laura's going to hate me forever though, I don't think I could have picked a more complicated colour if I tried. XD
