Some of my other collections. Lego and gaming mini figures and Funko POPs. Also seem to be collecting first edition comics Both display cases I made my self out of foamboard off cuts, random bits of wood and acrylic from a dolls house shop. (held on by stickywax so can take front off for access)

I collect childrens pony books from 1950s- around 1980s, got about 100 or more never really counted them. Then i also collect vintage horse manuals have about 50 of these from 1900-1970 especially stable management books from 20s and 30s and really do read them too Other than that i collect matchy matchy stuff for my RL horses, addicted to eskadron brand saddlecloths, and tack and rugs got far too many rugs! Got a few breyers kicking around but i dont collect them just use them as decorations S N A P am recollecting pony stories of my youth, have all the Julip HOTY models and a growing collection of Originals. Some Breyers that match horses I have owned, one feltie, one customised Breyer, history books, Jane Austen books, horse training books......have two horses, two cats & one husband.

It's weird, in the last couple of days since I viewed this topic about make-up, Ebay has been putting make-up listings in the 'popular on ebay' bit down the side of the screen. Until now, it's always been horsey stuff both real and model, dolls house items, and art/craft supplies, cos those are things I do regularly search and buy on Ebay. It kind of has to be linked to this discussion : I've never worn make-up, never looked at it on ebay or other websites, never researched it on google, don't talk to people about it - the /only/ make-up reference anywhere in my browser history is this one, so somehow Ebay's able to tell I've looked at this topic and is now trying to sell me it. It's a bit creepy, what else might it know about things that've been said on the thousands of Proboards forums!

It's a bit creepy, what else might it know about things that've been said on the thousands of Proboards forums! I've been getting those 'popular' make-up listings too recently on ebay but this is the first time I've looked at this discussion of make-up (and I don't look for it elsewhere) so I don't think it's due to ebay being very sophisticated about tracking anyone, it's more likely due to ebay's useless recommendations/related search thing which just can't grasp the context of anyone's searches and thus concludes there are connections between things that are actually totally unrelated. (When I search Julip it gives me "rimmel 1000 kisses" as one of the related search links, which I assume is some kind of lipstick, so there's apparently some kind of connection been made between Julip and at least one brand of make-up by ebay.) I think you've been lucky til now if you've only ever seen 'popular'/recommended stuff that is more or less related only to things you've searched for, ebay's been showing me all kinds of completely irrelevant stuff ever since they started those stupid things.

Ooh, spooky. Wonder if we all post the names of obscure things if eBay will start suggesting things for us? Morris traveller Ichthyosaur Potato Armadillo Lucite.
There's a selection, let's see if that works.

Haha I wouldn't mind some of those things being advertised to me! My mum would love Morris Traveller ads I used to buy bras online quite often (to find the tiny sizes haha) and my online shopping definitely DOES determine the ads I get - even though I was normally shopping at fairly everyday places like M&S I'd get some more "exciting" adverts for underwear

Eeeek I wouldn't buy make up from eBay.. I know several people who have bought fake products off there and had nasty reactions.. I got called a make up snob once because I said I prefer high end brands.. On bright side I never need to buy clear polish for glossing eyes when I do customs

So far none of my strange suggestions has appeared on eBay, I'll keep you informed of my experiment's progress.

I get some weird stuff on my eBay (and Amazon) recommended list too! I can't remember what but it was a load of stuff I have literally NEVER shown ANY interest in!

Kits, I totally understand the bra thing, I also shop small M&S online and I'm constantly having underwear adverts shown to me!
