Well, I watched that fabulous repairing video that EG has posted. After butting my first proper julip from eBay last week I decided to give it a go and I am delighted with how it's turned out! it was also relatively easy too. I had visualised glue everywhere and me getting cross but it was ok in the end I want to do it again now but I don't have any more originals!! Before

Oooh, very nicely done! I'm in the process of putting together a styling tutorial too so I'll get that up soon... ) Well if that isn't an excuse to buy more I don't know what is!

Nicely done I tried Mulburry black silk and ramine on mine last night. She's currently wrapped in clingfilm atm Did you at least get Mohair everywhere?

Haha that's the only problem with rehairing. Come out looking like your wearing a yeti

I watched the brilliant tutorial by EG on rehairing and would love to give it a go. I have a little pony with synthetic hair, so I bought some mohair and glue ready to give it a go. However I tried to pull some of his hair out and it just would not budge. His neck looked like it was opening up!! Will the hair definitely come out without damaging the little pony? Have you ever had one where the hair would not come out? Tips/reassurance gratefully received thank you

Have you ever had one where the hair would not come out? Tips/reassurance gratefully received thank you Sometimes it is difficult to remove and there is a risk of damage to the pony if it’s really stuck. In my experience it’s particularly difficult when the pony has hardened with age and the neck slot is set closed. I would try pulling out small tufts at a time with pliers but if you may need to try an alternative approach - can you get a knife blade in to scrape the glued hair away from the latex (or to at least break the hair up a bit), for example? Is cutting the hair right down and poking any remaining bits back inside an option? It’s often a bit trial-and-error with these things

thank you that is really helpful. the pony is still very soft, so it may be possible to poke in side the neck groove. I will try the options you have mentioned. I laid his new hair over his neck to see what he would look like and he looks fab, so I will persevere

Well I finally plucked up the courage to re-hair my little Welsh pony (thanks to encouragement from you EG). His mane and tail initially would not budge but with a bit of effort and a pair of pliers I managed to remove all but a tiny bit of forelock (which I cut short and pushed back in to his neck gullet. I am super pleased with how he turned out. He looks like a show pony now I was amazed by the difference after the mane and tail were wetted and wrapped in cling film. It came out lovely and wavy. I followed EG's tutorial to the letter so thank you so much for posting that. Sorry I don't know how to post pictures on here but they are on the Julip FB page. Just wanted EG to know how amazingly helpful your tutorial was
