I'm busy procrastinating doing college work at the moment but suddenly remembered that I'd made a video of the very first Julip show I ever went to and thought some of you might like to relive it, as well as showing new collectors just how mad we all get when in close proximity to one another. As well as the usual mould and performance classes there was a 'Paint Your Own' session where, if you'd ordered a 'body' in advance, you could add markings to an already painted horse or do one from scratch. It was great fun - even if the paint thinners did start to affect us all! The rider 'scene' that erupted around my table caused great hilarity and held up several classes as practically the entire hall converged on my windowsill, armed with riders and props to put in compromising positions! (just to clarify, *I* didn't start it )

I think that's where I wound up as a steward unexpectedly.

I had so much fun even though I had about 3 Julips! I hope we do another as I have so many ideas!

Brilliant! Brings back so many memories and that is where the 'famous' phrase "There a Who in my Bucket" came from lol

Haha! They look so much fun, it's a shame there's not enough collectors to do that here.

*pokesadmins* wouldn't it be awesome to have a diorama thread for pics of all the wonderful scenes people have created with their Julips over the years?! I'm sure I've missed loads not being in the hobby for a couple of years.

Oooh, that would be good actually! Would that be for scenes for shows only or for stable setups and the like at home too?

lol, well I was thinking more of the dioramas people do for shows but I love a good stable scene as much as the next hobby person!

I've just remembered that we actually have a section specifically for showing off our yards anyway so never mind. XD (it's not like I'm the person who made that board or anything - I've a memory like a sieve! )

I love the bit where you're carrying a massive pile of Julips stacked vertically! that just makes me cringe now, probably didn't do any of them any good at all! For quite a long time you were known, to me at least, as 'that girl who could carry an entire armful of Julips without dropping them'. Seriously that was the first thing I ever knew about you. I remember all of this rather vividly, right down to individual models! Sadly I didn't assist with the windowsill, I didn't even notice it was happening until the end of the day... quite how I didn't notice I don't know.

My abiding memory of the whole thing was coming into the hall for the PYO and being really nervous about meeting everyone for the first time, only to have the ice well and truly broken by someone (Pip?) asking me to say 'how now brown cow' just because I was Scottish and you'd all been discussing it before I arrived!

YES! I remember that bit, didn't I say it should be 'how now highland cow' instead? That show was so funny, one of the silliest ever (and all the better for it! )

Yeah, and you were all so disappointed that I said it in a really normal way so I said it again in a really awful and stereotypical Scottish accent. XD

Gah, all this talk of showtime silliness is making me want to come to a Julip show. Haven't been to any since my last new years live, which might have been six or seven years ago!
