It's been a really amazing parcel day today. I was lucky enough to acquire an entire herd of Julips (plus friends)! (They also came with 3 HOTYs, several non-Julip horses, some saddles which are in need of repair, some rugs, jumps and a few other accessories) I opened the boxes they came in and was hit by that really great old Julip smell. I think they're mostly if not all 1990s models. They're all in need of a bath first then the welsh has a broken leg wire the end of which has poked out the leg so that needs fixing and they all need some paint touch ups. Also there's some discolouration of the white/pale ones although it's fairly even except for the patch under the mane of the dappled grey AC (I originally thought that roany yearling was a badly discoloured strawberry/bay roan but seeing it properly now I think it was painted as a speckled/roany dun after all), and there's some minor cracking/crazing to the paint on some of them also the bay roan AC and Taffy the pit pony have both gone totally stiff but they're not in bad condition really for older Originals who were obviously once loved and played with. I don't really know what I'm doing with them all, technically I don't really have the space to keep all of them but I would hate to split them up and anyway I really like all of them even though I already have ponies similar to two of them and the Arab champion is not one of my favourite moulds, so parting with even one or two of them would be a bit of a wrench. I guess I'll see after I've bathed them and sorted out the paint rubs and everything.

What a fabulous herd! Congratulations! I really like the coloured-head variation on the Taffy.

Wow...well done on getting them, they all look in brilliant condition for their age, is the grey family horse 'Shadow', or is it white all over, the speckled Arab champion is such a pretty colour

The family horse is plain white (or was, she's gone cream now). So far she's the only one who's told me what she's called (I've named her Porcelain because she had some minor cracking to her paint that reminded me of that crazing effect you get on ceramics).

They've all had baths and paint touch ups now. Most of them don't have names yet though. Taffy and Patch Goldfinch (I've painted the mane to match the tail, they bug me too much when the tail is a different colour to the body but they didn't paint the mane) Dappled grey Arab champion and yearling meeting the matching Arab stallion (apart from he's far whiter) I already had. He's perhaps slightly confused to learn he has a baby already Porcelain the family horse (who's actually far more cream-coloured than she looks here) speckled/roan dun yearling bay roan Arab champion black Dartmoor (who seems to be imitating the old Magpies with that forelock) white Welsh (also quite cream-coloured now) Jack Russell terrier (which apparently the camera really didn't want to get in focus) and Copper the fox
