Seeing as some of the new batch of spares had them and looked great, I couldn't resist giving my lot a bit of minor surgery. XD Here's Lily, Bob and the finally named Simon! New mouth slits by Elrenia_Greenleaf, on Flickr (Oh and apologies for the state of my desk - I've been painting rocks for college and it's a bit of a mess at the moment, lol)

Nope, I just pushed the scalpel blade down very gently and took my time. You have to have a very sharp blade though, or it'll snag on the latex.
Yeah, I'm making 'The Restaurant at the End of the Universe' for a graded unit and as it's supposed to be sited on the remains of a planet, I sort of envision it being perched on an asteroid type of thing. XD

Can't wait to see that EG. I love that bit 'you know it's not so much an afterlife.. More a sort of... après-vie' x)
Oh dogs look fab - it makes them really come alive! My dog always has something in her mouth an will play tug of war all day long

They look great, are the mouth slits done flat like the horses have, or in the little kind of W shape?

Just straight across - I toyed with doing it to match the actual painted mouths but I didn't want to risk overdoing it!

the little white bit left above the mouth on the pale dogs just looks like their front teeth showing as they hang on to whatever they're holding
