Once again, I took my tiny herd of Julips to a "real" live show. They did much better this time around as they had their own "toy" division with other rubbery models. I didn't get photos of everyone, but here's Vortex looking very pleased with his first place ribbon. I was the only person who had Julips at the shows, and the little guys always get lots of looks. It's fun to see people's faces when I bend a leg to show how poseable they are. Models that bend and bounce!

Well done!! I wish my region (Region 10) would have classes like that; it would be so fun!

Well done!! I wish my region (Region 10) would have classes like that; it would be so fun! This was the first year they offered a special division, and it included all "less realistic" models (essentially, anything not Breyer, Stone, or Copperfox). Definitely talk to show hosts about including it! There were only a few classes, like Stock and Light rather than the breed breakdowns, so it didn't add significant time to the show, and it made me and several others quite happy to have a place for their models.

That sounds like a good format for it! I'm sure there must be other people in my region who would be interested in having classes to compete their less realistic horses in. Plus, I know there is at least one other person in Region 10 who has some Julips. I'll suggest it in my Region's Yahoo group so hopefully one of the show holders will like the idea

In the UK we have 'CTF' (craft/toy/foundation) as a section in a lot of shows (or sometimes a whole show on its own) - it covers Julips and a wide range of other things, including other bendy latex models, schleich/papo/collecta type toy ponies, Breyer mini whinnies, handmade models (clay, felt, wool, etc.), Grand Champions, Magpies, etc. I hope you manage to suggest a few extra classes that would suit your models, it's good fun taking them to shows
