Rosa made a trip to the salon last night. For those who don't know, she's a portrait of my old loan pony (who can be seen in my sig) and the only thing about her that's been not quite right was her mane and tail. The pinky-chestnut hair just didn't go with her dark liver chestnut colouring. So following EG's hairing tutorial, I decided to give rehairing her a bash! Typically I can't find any 'before' photos at the moment apart from this one... Bald Hair prep Haired! Excuse lack of backgrounds and poor lighting!

MUCH better! If you brush and wash the hair through with a tiny amount of conditioner, rinse well and then let it dry off naturally I find it holds its style and position a lot better, too

Looks good hope my first attempt turns out ok, reason it's taking so long is I'm think maybe just white colour on the grey foal won't look right should have a light or darker grey or even off white. Maybe off white and black even? I'll post a picture of the foal once I've got around to uploading that's a pain on our connection He's an old mould totally bold

I'd go for a darker grey as the manes and tails often stay darker for longer.

Although real foals aren't white or dapple grey either like julip has people believe

Awh, he's a cutie! If I ever want to order a greying out foal, I think it would be super cute if they're the solid base colour with those little grey goggles that lets you know they're going to be grey And Rosa's mane/tail are looking much better this morning after conditioning and leaving to dry like you said! EG, you are head stylist of the Julip salon.

I've got some Julips en route to me to rehair so I think I'll do a little styling guide for the forum when I get them! Now that they're all being mohaired as standard it should be a lot more relevant!
And yes, grey with goggles, eee!

Thanks! Here she is after the conditioning treatment - much neater (This is actually much longer and neater than real Rosa ever had her mane, lol. She had sweetitch so varied between being smart and hogged, and like a bog brush. But JulipRosa looks too pretty to cut it all off!) EG you're obviously a rehairing inspiration

LOL. If only my own hair looked so good - I desperately need a haircut but I wouldn't dare take the scissors to it myself!

Maybe a title to put under 'Tamarind Wrangler'?
