Introducing my new addition, Phari the Tibetan pony : As you can see, he's another character from an old horsey book! He joins Mancha & Gato, and Mousie the exmoor, in my little herd of Julips from vintage horse stories. Phari's a fictional pony, in the book we follow his life from newborn in Tibet, moving into India, from working to racing to polo to a stint in the army, being stolen, being injured, meeting his friends and enemies - all the usual sots of things which happen to ponies in books! I first read his story a few years ago and wanted a model of him after finishing it, so I've had my eye out for a suitable lookalike ever since. His description is 'mottled mousey grey' and it's mentioned that he gets paler and flecked with white in his old age, so I'd been hoping for a roany or lightly dappled medium grey, and this mould cos it's most like the real Tibetan ponies, so when this little one popped up on ebay last weekend, I just had to nab him to become my mini Phari I made a little copy of a real Tibetan bridle for him. Here's a couple of shots with him and his pictures in the book...

Aww... he's lovely and how lucky that he's just what you were after, love the photos with the book and his little bridle, the story sounds really exciting as well, it's one of the few pony books I don't remember reading as a child, I think I'll have to treat myself to a copy after Christmas
