After admiring pictures of Julips online for what felt like forever, I finally made the plunge and bought my first one on the most recent spares night. Since the spares night was the day before my birthday, I decided to try and buy one of the horses as a 21st birthday present to myself. As soon as the smutty palomino Thoroughbred came up, I fell completely in love with him, and I'm so glad I was able to buy him. He is even lovelier in person, with such a sweet face! I cannot wait to start making tack and things for him. I have a feeling that a solid chunk of my winter break will be spent crafting things for this cute fellow (and the craft store gift card my friend gave me for my birthday will really come in handy haha). Anyway, here's Willoughby! IMG_1518 (1) by Hannah P., on Flickr IMG_1519 (1) by Hannah P., on Flickr

Well you've certainly picked an absolute stunner to start your collection with! He's gorgeous! Thank you so much!! Your blog and photo stories were actually how I found out about Julips (I saw them through your signature on another model horse forum). Then I started researching them more and realized that I wanted to start collecting them because they seemed like such cool models.

It's lovely to see this - I always love to see the excitement of newer collectors, like when people hold a Julip for the first time, get a first one of their own or get to go to their first live show. They're very special little models! So glad to hear that you're pleased with your first purchase - as the others have said, it probably won't be the last Welcome to Julip collecting, you've made a very good start to your herd there

I think we all remember the feeling of holding a Julip of our own for the very first time after seeing photos of them online or back when we used to have catalogues that we'd read through again and again, it's such a lovely feeling

I get that rush of excitement all over again! And then the thrill, decades after those first purchases, of browsing the internet randomly and discovering other Julip fans (George's blog and then EG's!) and that Julips were being made again - superbness!!
