yah I am looking forward to this show only got 9 Julip's but hopefully can add to number at show (Gail) So pleased you're looking forward to the show Gail! It really doesn't matter how many Julips anyone has - it's just lovely to see all the different models and talk Julip all day. The emphasis is very much on having fun with like-minded collectors. But of course the possibility of adding more ponies and pets is always exciting!

Yay! I'm already thinking of scene ideas! Hope you liked the schedule, Katie - looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Hopefully everyone has plenty of time to get creative with their scene plans - I'm always useless at coming up with anything but I'll try to enter at least one of them

Is there a deadline of when we can enter? Really want to try and come but I'm getting married two weeks after There isn't a set deadline as such but we'd like to get as many paid entrants as soon as possible to make sure the show is viable to run and to help us to plan for the number of people wanting to join us, so would really encourage early payments where possible please The main thing for you is that we don't want to run out of space for people - we haven't set a specific limit on this at the moment but there will be a limit and so depending on how places fill up we will have to check we can accommodate everyone. Hope that helps and I hope you can make it, we had a brilliant day last time and everyone seemed to enjoy the show

There are model horse shows in the wider hobby (usually for some of the more realistic models you might be familiar with, like Breyer models and similar, although Julips can often enter those shows in certain classes) - those tend to be a bit more serious than Julip shows, although still very enjoyable, but the following is mainly just about our particular show in April Hulland Julip Live will be a very fun and relaxed type of show. There's a schedule listed in this post that shows you the type of classes we will have throughout the day. Basically on the day we will run through the classes in order, much like at a real horse show, in a couple of different 'rings' - tables in the middle of the hall. When the class you want to enter your horse in is called then you just pop your model onto the table in the middle. At this particular show we judge by popular vote, so once all of the horses are in the ring (Jan, Caitlin and I are holding the show and will also act as stewards on the day to make sure everyone knows what's going on then all of the attendees can place coloured counters next to their preferred horses (just not their own entries!) to vote for the winner. The stewards will then count up the coloured counters and put down certificates for the horses that have placed Winners go through to a championship for their section and may go on to win a rosette there, and there will be a supreme championship with more rosettes at the end of the day. The showing itself is really straightforward and there will be lots of people around to help if there are any questions on the day - it's all really obvious when you're actually there so it's not too confusing really The main thing we all love about Julip shows is how friendly and relaxed they are - there's lots of time for chatting about Julips with everyone and we always have a fun day together Each person will be allocated a table round the edge of the hall to display their horses on for when they aren't in the ring so there will be plenty of Julips to admire. We will have a raffle that we will draw at lunchtime and Laura from Julip is attending so there may be some Julip Originals available for purchase, as well as the opportunity for attendees to sell models and accessories on the sales tables that will be set up over lunchtime. Hopefully that gives you a bit of an idea of what it all involves - there should be some photos around from previous live shows on this forum if you want to get a better idea of what goes on, or feel free to ask any other questions about either this show or shows in general and we'll try to answer them for you
