As I'm sure many of you know, this year saw a dramatic change in the paints that we use to produce each Julip model and while we have been happy with the results we are now achieving, we are still not as confident as we would like to be in our ability to produce specific colours to peoples orders. As a result we have made the difficult but necessary decision that we will not be taking orders for Christmas this year.
However, we going to do our absolute best to try and get as many Julip spares produced as is possible between now and the festive season, so that hopefully no tree will be Julip free! We will try and make the moulds and colours that people have voiced an interest in but if you have any requests for colours or moulds that you would like to see, then please post below and we will do our best to try and include them in the spares.

What about pets/animals? I'm assuming we can still order them but would there be a cut off date for ordering them for christmas?

Pets and animals as well as riders and tack can still be ordered, I'll post a cut off date for ordering those in the next few days.

would it be possible to order models in colours you have already done this year with the new paints rather than trying to compete with people for spares? My computer isn't always the fastest connection.

Thanks for the update, can't wait to see the spares and there are plenty more Christmases to order particular models in the future!

Totally understandable. My personal wish-list would be a mouse dun foal, a Rose-mulberry grey TB and a chocoloately appaloosa Irish draft, and any colour of foals and yearlings, but whatever you like to paint - I just love spares nights

I'd love a fjord baby or a dark-headed appaloosa on one of my favourite moulds but I don't think I'd want to see either of those on regular spares night as I'd stand absolutely no chance of actually getting them.

Perhaps for a spares night nearest christmas there could have a limit on how many people are allowed to purchase? That would make it fairer for those who have slow connections and those who would normally have a Christmas order be more guaranteed to get one. If after 3 days there are any unsold ones then it's a free for all.
It's just that on a Sunday I am usually out at the time spares nights occur and I am usually relying on a mobile phone signal! I would be most disappointed if I don't get an actual horse. I had actually planned my Christmas order.
Oh and on a personal note I would like a pit pony.

On my wishlist I have a dappled grey feathered cob mare (to be a Highland pony) and a mealy bay drop head hunter but if I saw them get snapped up by someone who was quicker on spares night I would be gutted

I'd love a welshie in fleabitten grey (like Stacey's newbie! ) or strawberry roan, or a dark dapple grey DH, or an Appaloosa stock horse, and cobs, aaaall the cobs, and and and... XD I was also thinking that perhaps to make things slightly fairer, instead of putting them up one by one and having people buy them straight away, what about putting up all the 'ads' so to speak, but only opening them 'for sale' at a certain time? That way everybody gets to have a look for maybe half an hour or something and pick what they want to try for rather than the mad rush. It'll still be first come first serve but it might make things slightly less frantic.

Trouble with that is that if your internet goes down at that very moment (or the doorbell rings or something!) you might miss out altogether if they all went 'live' at the same time. Pros and cons to all of the options with selling them on here unfortunately. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, Laura No specific suggestions here but I always like a coloured

I'm really hoping that I'll be able to make enough so everyone has a chance of getting one, well that's the plan anyway! Trying to make it fair for everyone is the most difficult bit, so any suggestions are very welcome.

I don't know if this is a good idea or not, so feel free to ignore! What if people said on here the sorts of things they'd like (limited to colours you're already doing of course), and if/when you made those things you could message them for first dibs. If they then didn't want it, it could go on a spares night which could operate on the usual first-come, first-served basis.

I would love a pit pony in piebald but find it hard to manage to get my fingers working fast enough to nab one. Think its hard to please everyone on spares night as some will miss out one way or another.
Like the idea of making up the suggestions then pm'ing people for first dips before throwing it open to rest of us.
Poor Laura will be over worked bless her
