A lot of my models are portraits/based on real horses I knew anyway so that feels a little bit like cheating but... Jack He's not my favourite Julip, I have too many to pick favourites there, but Jack was my favourite real pony. I'm still heartbroken about losing all of them so suddenly (I went to a riding lesson one day as normal and got told that was the final lesson as they were closing down pretty much literally the next day. Everyone else in the class had at least got told the week before but nobody thought to tell me until we were actually in the lesson) and not even getting to say goodbye properly to them, even though it was years ago. I still have dreams quite often about finding some of them again, Jack most of all, even though it's impossible (most if not all of them will be long dead by now even if I had any way to trace them). He was stubborn and arthritic and prone to sweet itch but I loved him so much. I want Jack back most of all.

astudyinscarlet know that feeling well I used to ride a piebald cob(Domino) at the Skylark Stables in the New Forest one day they had to sell up lucky they had a spare field in the forest to use but had to sell a lot of the ponies. Domino was one of them and at the time I had Opal my Exmoor cross and could not afford another one gutted and heartbroken
I have for Christmas asked Laura to do a Farm cob based on Domino so part of him will still be with me after all those years ago
