Margarita gets a set of harness (her cart is still in progress). I was trying to make one that was reasonably accurate but also heavily simplified and not covered in fiddly buckles. At first I couldn't figure out how to attach the cart's shafts to the harness without using yet more buckles but then I found I had just 2 of those big silver tube beads in my box of random leftover beads and they were perfect, you slip the cart's shafts through the leather loops attached to the back band then slide the beads down to secure them in place. Plus they fit nicely with the red and silver theme and just look pretty. The lobster clasps on the end of the traces will clip onto rings under the cart because again I'm not dealing with the hassle of loads of little buckles. Also I added harness bells, just because. They're on a separate strap to the rest of the harness though so they don't have to be worn with it. My idea is to have this be reasonably interchangeable between Julips and Magpies so I can have a Magpie arab out on display with it because they (well, certain darker colours anyway) aren't prone to discolouring/rubbing unlike Julip Originals. The harness itself fits a Magpie arab but I still need to make a second driving bridle for that as the Julip donkeys' heads are MASSIVE compared to Magpie arabs.
