I think having a wix site would be good as well as the archive - I find photobucket can be quite difficult to navigate these days.

I think it may be quite nice to have another archive site or a gallery of models type site as well as Elli's 'Julip Archive' (which I have to say I have looked through hundreds of times!). New models have been brought out, both equine and pets and it may be nice to include the HOTY's, as well as having a gallery of the catalogue models, also it's just really enjoyable looking at everyone else's Julips!

My intention has been to move the existing collection of photos somewhere more user-friendly once my PhD had been submitted - by total coincidence, that happens to be today!

Thank you! Finally a little more time with Julips can be justified!

Here's a list of the contents of each catalogue from 1995 til the last one, issued in 2009 1995 catalogue(also pictured in large set-ups but not in individual photos with captions and names : palomino dartmoor dun yearling strawberry roan arab champion silver roan quarter horse spotted welsh pony flaxen chestnut new forest pony 'golden' arab champion strawberry roan yearling) George, were these produced in large release numbers, or were they catalogue stand-ins/test runs? Thank you so much for your outstanding list, I just finished breaking it down in a spread sheet for sorting and hope to start entering the information into the website this evening. Also, does anyone have a list of older catalogue models and/or one for the Realism range?

As far as I can remember, the realism range was just special orders, but done in a different style, with resculpting and glossed hooves sometimes.

Also, does anyone have a list of older catalogue models and/or one for the Realism range? You might find that that's the earliest example of 'catalogue models', to an extent, although I could be wrong. Those early ones didn't have names, that was a later thing. The 'realism' range were produced for a very short period of time (and quite controversially!). They were sometimes made to order but some were produced, like 'spares', and sold through eBay - I think they were all just on 'buy it now'. None of them had names and there weren't any that were made more than once (unless someone happened to order one the same).

Elli is right, the 'realism range' were also sold on e-bay as a 'buy it now' or with a best offer, there was also a 'designer range' that were produced around the same time and again could be specially ordered or were sold on e-bay the same way.

Here's a donation to the archiving, I know we can contribute all our catalogue model photographs later on, but I have something here which would make the ideal first photo for the Mighty Mouse page : This is the EXACT Mighty Mouse who was in the catalogue, the first one ever painted. I happened to phone Julip about something else and asked if Annabel had any horses made up and ready to sell (this was lonnnng before 'spares nights' were brought in, so ringing on the off-chance there was anything sitting about wanting a home was worth trying, even though you didn't get to see a picture first!), and she said I could buy this one - he turned out to be a pony seen by every Julip collector who ever had the catalogue, so he's a famous little fellow

Thank you for all the information, everyone. George, that is a beautiful model and how cool that she's the catalogue model!
Elli, what was the controversy about the realism range?

Thank you for all the information, everyone. George, that is a beautiful model and how cool that she's the catalogue model! Elli, what was the controversy about the realism range? Very long story but the issue that I was referring to is the fact that the 'realism' range were being giving priority over 'normal' Julip orders, and the quality of those suffered because of it. All very unfair but fortunately long behind us - the 'realism' range weren't always entirely popular and weren't being sold in exactly the same way as normal Julips were being anyway! We are so lucky now that we all get perfect quality Julips, exactly as we ordered and delivered in a timely fashion

I couldn't imagine what could possibly be controversial about them otherwise Thank you for the background info.

Thanks, Miss Charlotte I'm hoping to have most of the layout done by next week and will start begging for pictures then. I'd love it if you would be willing to donate pictures of your herd! Right now I'm still bugging folks for information Can anybody tell me: A. Names of the Horse of the Year molds, including the early ones B. The Horse of the Year releases. Is there a list somewhere? C. Was the Arabian a HOTY mold first or did they use a HOTY model for the catalogue model? I'm referring to the Arabian used in the 1995 catalogue line-up. I'm a little confused about the early HOTY models. Were these bendy like the Originals, or were they stiff like the current HOTYs? That's all I can think of just this second, but I'm sure I'll be back with more A huge thank you to everyone who has already contributed information. I greatly appreciate the help in my crash course of Julip lore.

This is the mold list I've gathered from Miss Elli's photobucket and Miss Laura's site: VintageChild's Hunter Cleaveland Bay Donkey Donkey Foal Exmoor Foal (2 different ones?) Fell Hack Handy Hunter Highland Horse In Action Icelandic Irish Jumping Horse Jumping Pony Moorland Polo Pony Pony Hunter Shetland Shire Show Hunter Show Pony Unicorn Welsh Mountain Pony Yearling Current American Quarter Horse Arab Champion (standing Arabian) Arab Mare Arab Stallion Arabian (walking Arabian) Child's Jumping Pony Clydesdale Foal Cob Mare Cob Stallion Connemara Dartmoor Pony Donkey Donkey Foal Dressage Horse Eventer Family Horse Farm Cob Feathered Cob Foal (running) Hunter Irish Draught Lipizzaner Mule Mustang New Forest Pony Pit Pony (Shetland - revival pending) Show Cob Sports Horse Stock Horse Thoroughbred Welsh Cob Welsh Pony Working Hunter Yearling HOTYClydesdale Foal Arab Champion (same as Arabian) Cob (was Working Hunter) Horse (was Sport Horse) Moondance (was Sport Horse - is this the same as Horse?) (other molds??) Was the Dressage Horse formerly the vintage form of the Lipizzaner? Did Miss Laura bring back the HOTY Arab Champion as the Arabian? When did the standing Foal get replaced by the current running foal? Some of the newer HOTY models are resculpted Originals? Do I have that right? I vaguely remember something about that. I promise to save any other questions until tomorrow

I greatly appreciate the help in my crash course of Julip lore. My website is currently down but had all of the HOTY details, Georgie's did/does but I'm not sure if hers is online at the moment. The HOTY 'Arab Champion' was a HOTY from 1989 onwards and was later made into an originals mould, although not by Laura. They were released in bendy rubber with wired legs and then later as shiny plastic in a slightly different colour range (grey wasn't made in plastic). The Mustang mould was formerly a HOTY mould, made in rubber only - the Family Pony. All other HOTY moulds with the exception of the last one (Silver Mist) were subsequently also made into Originals moulds - Moondance became the sport horse, Sundanfe became the stock horse, Conker became the Working Hunter, Ted became the Clydesdale Foal.
