We have been very lucky to find someone that is keen to work on developing some of the wooden accessories that have always been part of Julip. At the moment we only have some prototypes but it would be nice to get some feedback from collectors as to what items would be popular and what you would like to see return or anything that may have been missed out of the original range.
We have a couple of items, the first of which is the Blacksmith's Furnace which hasn't been in production for several years so I thought it was a good thing to start with. There are two types which have been made, one with a light that glows so the coals look red and one that is just the unlit coals and is slightly narrower (the anvil will be following shortly!), the second is just a simple mounting block which I think was available up until fairly recently, please have a look and let me know what you think and whether there would be any interest in them.
I'm not sure at the moment what they would be price wise and the furnace would depend on which one was the more popular. Please remember these are just prototypes so there will be a few adjustments made but I would really appreciate your comments.

Oooooh!
Personally they're not something I'd buy as I don't have the space but I think they'd be very popular!

Oh lovely! I'd prefer the glowing furnace.

The furnace (whichever one) is nice but not something I'd want myself. It seems like it would be best suited to a bigger set up and like EG says, I don't have the space for it.
Mounting blocks seem more practical and of potentially wider appeal. They're one of those things I keep thinking I need to make but still haven't so far but I don't have a lot of money to spend overall so I'm reluctant to spend money on accessories if I can potentially make them myself (even if sometimes I never actually do get around to making them) so personally speaking, whether I bought the mounting blocks or tried to make my own would depend on the cost of them. Also (again personally speaking) I'm not keen on the bare wood look for them, I'd have to paint them up if they were just left as unpainted wood, so that would also affect how much I'd want to pay for them. But they're a definite possibility for something I might consider buying.

Like the others have said, I really like the look of the forges but I wouldn't buy one cos I don't have room to set up any scenes or buildings - the stables I bought years ago are now all flat-packed and tucked away, my usual selection of backgrounds and bases are piled on top of a kitchen cupboard, and the tack room lives permenently in the box I take it to live shows in cos I don't have anywhere to ever set it up at home! Cos there's no room to display things which aren't horses, it would be a waste and a shame for me to buy anything big which needs space to be enjoyed. A full blacksmith's forge set up would be brilliant but I just can't do it Having said that, I still think the light-up version would be the best to produce, much more scope for both imaginative playing with, and creative detail in scenes and live showing. I like the fact the mounting block looks so like the old catalogue one, I've got one of those somewhere which was an 80's one - did it change to being a chunk of MDF rather than real wood in later years, like the stable doors?

What about some fencing? I make my own so I wouldn't need any but I know it's always popular for scenes and things! You could do it in sections so people could build up bigger paddocks and rearrange the layout to their liking!

Like others have said, I wouldnt personally buy the forge due to space issues - but I prefer the ones with the coals painted red. Like george said, all my stables are flat packed.
I would like to see the returns of jumps - it's something that I would buy.

You could do it in sections so people could build up bigger paddocks and rearrange the layout to their liking! This is some fencing that is in it's initial stages, I thought that maybe the top of the posts should have a slope on them rather than be quite so pointed, so they've gone back to be altered, they sort of slot together to make the corner, also there is still a gate section to make, at the moment they are natural wood but could be painted.

A furnace isn't something I would buy, but I love the fencing!

I love the fencing too! Perfect.
I really like the furnace with the glowing coals and would buy one if I could afford it. Like everyone else, I have space issues and my stables do spend a lot of time packed away, but I've got my Frampton Forge set up at the moment and have been oing various photo sessions until it has to go away again. It would look great with that furnace inside, lit up.
I already have a mounting block I got in a job lot, it looks very similar so might even be a vintage one - and I use it as steps into my Julip lorry aswell.

You've done a great job of the furnace, it looks really good. I wouldn't be something I'd look to buy because I'm not really a scenes person - I don't have space to keep big set-ups on display and don't tend to get involved in those classes at shows either. The fencing looks good though, that's more something I'd have a use for as it's a great backdrop for more basic photos

As others have said I love the glowing furnece but not something I would buy as don't have the forge. However mouning blocks, fences and gates - oh please Why not sell them in 2 versions? Unpainted and painted? The unpainted cheaper for those who want natural or to paint in there own colours. Painted for those that want ready to use items I'd love to see jump wings, poles, fillers, smaller field shelters etc.

I prefer the one with the light up coals but again, wouldn't necessarily buy it. Loving the fencing and mounting blocks, too

Oooh yes, jump wings and stuff would be good, especially if you did blocks!

Oooh yes, jump wings and stuff would be good, especially if you did blocks! Julip did some nice simple jump blocks years ago, I don't know if you'd have seen them - I can't remember what year they were from and can't remember seeing them in any old catalogues but I had some that were new in (very basic) Julip packaging so I know they weren't made by someone else. The ones I had were little white blocks with a white and green pole.

Jumps might be nice, yes. I do make my own jumps but jump blocks, cavaletti and jump wings if they were just actual wings could maybe tempt me to buy some.
I don't really like the older Julip jumps or the ELC Pony Club ones which were very similar because they were quite big and as the jump stands are fixed on a base they take up way too much space in storage so they're not practical for me and I didn't like either that some of the old jumps were fixed in position like the five bar gate (also the hedge jump was massive, a smaller hedge with the space to put poles or planks over the top so there could be some variety in the height would have been better).

Some new jumps seems to be a popular request, I'll see what we can do and maybe get some prototypes sorted out I don't remember the jump blocks either but they shouldn't be too much of a problem to make, I wouldn't have thought.

I like the furnace, I have one I made in my own forge but I would like a proper Julip one.
