I'd also add that things like the 'Arabs' class aren't just for horses that you'd normally show as Arabs - in the moulds section any colour goes, so you aren't just entering (or judging for) a colour that would be acceptable in a real Arab horse, you can put horses in that are whatever colour you like

That sounds much less intense and more fun than the shows I'd read about! Thanks for all the explanations both of you.

Yeah, I've only ever been to one non Julip live, and I know which I prefer! Julip shows are usually more about chatting with other collectors/surreptitiously trying to steal ponies than actual serious showing.

Anything that's been customised either by yourself or that has been ordered/bought already customised from Julip (for example your black AQH could go in that class, as could anything that you've modified by painting them yourself)

You can have up to three models in each mould class, so he could go in both classes if you wanted to!

Julip shows are usually more about chatting with other collectors/surreptitiously trying to steal ponies than actual serious showing. Not to knock more serious non-Julip shows (some people prefer them and that's fine, there's a time and a place for everything and everyone), but I'd agree with you there Usually everyone goes away with a few ribbons and it's nice to have a horse do well but we're all too busy admiring other people's models to mind really! I think because we're all there with the same sorts of horses it's very much a level playing field - some of us have more horses than others, of course, but creativity is always the main things with the scene classes and all of our horses have as much chance as anyone else's of placing in a particular class really Just to warn any first time Julip show goers though...they do have a habit of just feeding the rubber pony addiction and always give you new ideas for future purchases. It's dangerous really!

I've made a small change to the schedule and moved the Lipizzaner mould out of class 17 and into class 16 to try and balance out the number of models that might be in each class.

Hehe. I'll try and not spend too much money on holiday so have some left over for ponies then I *think* I've IDed the models right via your mould gallery thingy but let me know if I've put any in wrong class as I'm new to all this. Been showing in serious shows for 10 years tho :S

My Julip Rosa has had socks, freezemark and random white patch where a rug rubbed added and been rehaired, does that qualify her for the customised class?

I think so, I entered my altered FH in a customised class at the last show.

Does anyone have a burning desire to judge a particular class? If you do please let me know as I am compiling a Judging list.

I normally have horses to go in every class but am happy to do my share if you've got a shortage - less likely to be in the scene classes though

Can anyone help me? I'll definitely be coming if someone is able to grab me from Oxford station on their way...I get the feeling a taxi will be horrendously expensive!
