I was doing some pictures yesterday and posing my yearling when I noticed two small cracks on her front off knee! She is barely three years old, not posed much and displayed out of sunlight. Can I do anything to fix this or is she just not poseable anymore?
Thanks.

Is it actuall right-through-the-latex cracks or just in the paint? I've noticed that on white markings, especially when the paint has been applied too tricky, you get a lot of cracking.

I think it is into the latex, it doesn't look shallow enough to just be the paint. They are very small, about 2mm long and I guess about 1mm deep? Paint is not that thick is it?

Apply superglue to seal the cracks, then paint over it. Some Originals crack, some don't . It must depend on the latex they are made from.

You can sometimes get away without having to paint over it, cos matching the paint on some colours can be near-impossible if they're done with airbrushed shading - if its the yearling in your avatar photo, that looks like it might be a difficult paintjob to match convincingly. What I do in these cases is bend the leg slightly so the cracks open up, rub in a little superglue, put the leg back into the correct position, and rub off any excess glue which squidges out. That way you don't get any blobs drying on the outside, it's only IN the cracks, and doesn't show.

I've got this with a couple of mine, but not sure whether to just leave it and accept retirement from my oldest one (catologue Joker I got 10 years ago). She's a bit yellowed now as well. Might try the superglue trick on another one though, hadn't heard of it before!

I usually do just 'retire' them from action scenes and let them stand around looking pretty but stationary, it's not worth bending the legs on those starting to crack if you have other more poseable ones to swap to instead if you especially want to be doing poses with them, heh.

Yes it is the yearling from my pic. I'll try what you said and say how it worked

What about white leg paint cracking? It's not so deep so defiantly only the white paint. Is there something I can seal it with?

with cracked white socks i've just acrylic painted over them - if you work in nice thin coats it can still be reasonably bendy as well i've found.
