Fellow Julip showers! I was thinking it would be fun to have a show-based Julip-grading system for our Julips. Sort of like in real-horse competitions - so many points for first, second, third etc, with cumulative points, and grade levels as you hit points milestones. We would have printable certificates for each grade level. Totally informal - keep a tally of your own points and then we all celebrate how our little herds do in the wider showing world. For those of you in MHU - like that.
So, this is announcing the start of Julip Grading! Every show placing each of your Julips gets, in any show whatsoever, gets them points in this Julip grading scheme. Track your points and when your Julip reaches a points milestone, I'll make you a printable certificate (gimme time to get that designed though ).
All Julips are eligible. All shows are eligible - live and photo.
Points. Hopefully this makes sense!
1st - 20 points 2nd - 16 points 3rd - 12 points 4th - 8 points 5th - 6 points 6th - 4 points any lower defined place (7th, 8th, highly commended, etc) - 2 points
Subsection/division (eg breed/colour/etc) champion - 20 points (ie, you came first in the subsection, so like 1st, you get 20 points) Subsection/division reserve champion - 16 points Subsection/division second-reserve champion - 12 points
Overall champion - 20 points Overall reserve champion - 16 points Overall second-reserve champion - 12 points
So, if your Julip was first in the Julip light horses (20 points), then champion in the Julip section (20 points), then champion in the CFT division (20 points) and then reserve supreme champion overall (16 points), then that's 76 points in total.
Point milestones (totally inspired my MHU - thanks MHU!). I've not decided on the names of the levels (I'm well organised I am ), but there are milestones:
50 points 100 points: 250 points 500 points 1000 points 2000 points 3000 points 4000 points 5000 points 10000 points
Crucial point - you can backdate your points as far back as you can recall/have records for - your champion show horse that's won everything doesn't have to start as a fresh newbie
Shout if you have queries!

Shouldn't take long to add up any points I've got as I've only ever entered the photo shows on here!

Love this! I'll make sure to set up a page on my site where I can keep track of the grades of my Julips! Edit: Quickly threw something together. Now for making it into a nice orderly table. I'm quite surprised to see how my Julips seem to have collected quite some points already, even though I haven't done much showing at all! <3 So fun, thanks for setting this up Charlotte! wollepluis.bromandcompany.nl/show-results-and-gradings/

I was updating mine this morning. Poor Raphael has been stuck on 98 points since last summer (sympathy votes gratefully accepted 😁), meanwhile Breeze has gone from zero to 60points overnight.

Ohh no, poor Raphael! And Breeze is on fire! Do you kind of keep the grading as a guide to whom to enter? Sometimes there's classes with limited entries and I always try to let them take turns based upon whom 'needs' some more points, hehe.

Oh no, I try to squeeze as many of them in as possible! Although, I did substitute Breeze for Bronn to try to get her on the scoreboard. There were less entries than placings when I entered so I figured even if she came last she'd still get some points 😁

I must have missed this thread last year. It sounds awesome though! Is this still running? Absolutely! You can just start at any moment and even grade 'back in time' if you've already been keeping track of your Julip's show record. It's just a fun little personal thing to do!

I've summed up all the points my Julips got, and turns out I have two Preliminaries already! Ak'is has already 70 pints, Alniyran is not far behind with 68 points! I keep track of all my horses' points on my website herring-horse-julips.blogspot.com/p/julips.html

Perfect lockdown activity, adding up pony points
I started going to live shows in 2014 and also found some very old photo show results that must have been posted to me, it may be time to let those go lol. Some of the ponies have been slowly hoarding their points over years and years then my newbie at the last Julip Live got all his points in one go.
Goldy - 104 Novice Burley - 144 Novice Shuckstone - 54 Preliminary Autumn - 64 Preliminary Bob - 290 Elementary Heinz - 98 Preliminary Starmap - 62 Preliminary Constellation - 104 Novice Vera - 154 Novice Arthur - 62 Preliminary Pendragon - 68 Preliminary Fledge - 92 Preliminary Archibald II - 52 Preliminary Gavriel - 54 Preliminary Kizzy - 80 Preliminary Silvermind - 144 Novice Peppermint - 60 Preliminary
(Charlotte, please don't feel obliged to turn all those into certificates!)
