Weird title but basically, I made an office/staff room ages ago for my Julip etc riders which ended up turning into just a staff room after I made them a new separate office but it's still not really big enough to accommodate all the stuff I'd like them to have in a staff/common room so they're now getting a new bigger staff/common room (roombox actually) made for them. But that leaves the old building which is not brilliantly made (it's cardboard and kind of looks it) but I think if I clad it with wood or something and give it a new roof it would look a lot better. I don't really want to get rid of it anyway. But what should I do with it? It's not really suitable for a stable. A tack room is an option but I already have 2 tack rooms (although far more tack than fits in them) so I'd prefer something different really (I already have a feed room too and a small store room).
I'm leaning towards a guinea pig/rabbit shed probably with some stacked cages in it to house some of my Julip small pets. Although the issues with that may be how do I make loads of cages with opening doors that are probably going to be really fiddly, and also accessibility (as it's only accessible from above, not from the front). Does anyone have any other ideas what I could do with it?

Do you have any poultry? A lot of stables/farmyards have a stable full of hens mooching about 😊 You could build open fronted nest boxes and stack straw bales and have perches and buckets and feeders etc!

I have a few Julip chickens and a few more resin ones. Perhaps if I cut through one side they could have an attached outdoor enclosure too.

What about a little wash stall/grooming bay? Would it be big enough for that?

It's probably a little bit small for a wash stall unfortunately.
I like the chicken house idea actually too cos I've just realised one of my thimble racks (which I somewhat impulsively bought cos they seemed ideal for Julip sized shelving units) could be turned into chicken nesting boxes.

You could add a bit of a dovecote above it - all those lovely brick built dovecotes with little bays for them to nest in

I already have a feed room. I think it's definitely going to be a chicken house now anyway.
