Here's my buys from the show yesterday
I picked up a lovely grey QH first and just couldn't put him down...
He's called Fortune, and isn't he a stunner!
The mane on this one is just gorgeous, not just the way it's gone gently curly when I moussed it to tame it down at the show, but the fade to grey at the forelock is so nice!
He briefly had a bridle at the show but I took it back off to put on another Julip later and that one's still packed, so I'll make him one of his own instead of making him share, heh
While a few of us were still dithering over the spares decision-making, one I liked very much got put back on the table, so of course I had to have her too - I'd only really intended to buy one but the fact I took enough money for two on purpose kind of proves I was hoping to be naughty and come home with more than one new horse
Meet Harecroft Hazelnut I had her name idea this morning when I found a stray hazelnut, and it just seemed perfect cos I wanted something autumn-themed and naturey
Another one with lovely curly hair, the mix of colours is very pretty and it's a really silky, soft-feeling hair
Unlike Fortune, Hazelnut's managed to come home in the bridle she borrowed for her class, this one's Thistle's really (but I'm going to show her as the same breed, highland, so this one's fine for turnout rules if she keeps borrowing it for a little while )
As well as the horses, there's always spares pets at the show, and they're a lot easier to get hold of than online so I ended up being kind of ridiculous over chickens and abandoned all attempt at narrowing it down to just my favourite cockerel and hen from the colours on display...
A grey cockerel with tiny feather details
And his harem of hens...
And a very pretty and detailed black one, who came second in the birds class at the show. I love that we have actual assorted Julip birds now, enough that there can be a live show class for them! Come a long way from the days of having two dog moulds, two cat moulds, and doves which were so rare they almost caused a stampede when a batch got found
All my chooks
And this little bunny ended up sneaking in, too, I just liked his little face and I don't have any this colour (is it Himalayan, or do they just have the brown on the tip of the nose?)
And these are going to share the post to save having to start a new one, here's the gorgeous big green and black rosettes from the show, they're so fancy and multi-layered
My tack room won two of those I almost didn't even take it, cos it takes SUCH a long time to set up every time, but all my tack and riders/handlers were heaped in there in the customary hideous mess, and it seemed easier to take the whole box along and know I'd have everything with me, than try to pick through the tangled chaos to remember and find all the things I needed the night before the show, so I took it along. And as it was there, decided I may as well put it in the class - and much to my surprise, it won. Then it won the Scene Championship. And finally, at the very end of the day, was the Reserve Supreme Champion The other championship rosette there goes to good old William my shire, who was the Vintage class winner, then Reserve Champion in the moulds section.
As well as these spectacular rosettes, we were treated to some really generous and completely adorable prizes - little colour co-ordinated dogs
As reserve champ, mine was the silver dog, with his patches in grey and a blue bow, and they each come with little boxes which also act as a plinth to stand on.
I think I'll call him Silver
SO SWEET
