As a colouring competition seemed such a popular choice, we thought we would go ahead and hold one
The competition will be divided into two different sections :-
a) A picture that is coloured digitally.
b) A picture that is coloured using any traditional medium (paints, pencils, charcoal, anything you can think of that isn't using the computer!)
Below are three different templates of some Julip moulds (a huge 'Thank you' to George for sorting out the templates for me!)
Please choose one of these templates for each of the sections you would like to enter. You do not have to enter both sections and you do not have to use the same template both times but it is only one entry per person, per section. Tack, a rider or background can be added if you would like but the main focus will be on how the model itself is coloured.
There will be rosettes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd and a special prize for the winner of each section, the competition will be open from the 19th March and will close on the 1st April with the winners being announced shortly afterwards.
Please post your photos below and good luck!

'egg'citing! (sorry) Is it open to forum members only? or to anyone? My daughter would like to have a go at the digital colouring one. I will have to stick to regular crayons, I have no idea how to do anything digitally

Thank you for running this I've been having such an appalling time recently and I think some chilled out relaxed art could be just the thing I need! Can't wait to see everyone's entries.

I can't seem to save the pictures to my computer... Is there an extra step I am missing?

I can't seem to save the pictures to my computer... Is there an extra step I am missing? If you right click on the template you're after and choose the 'save picture as....' option from the box that appears; your computer will then ask you where you would like the imaged saved to and what it should be called, from that point you can print it out or access it digitally.

Yay! Quick question - are the entries to be Easter themed, or not? I mean, is it a colouring competition that's just around Easter time, so any horsey colouring in is fine, or is it actually an *Easter* competition? Eggs and all that

That's what I tried, 3 times, but it just shows a picture with flowers and there's nothing on the page when I select it and try to print. I just wondered if I had to save it as a different format or something?

Abbeymore, search your laptop to see if it has a 'Snipping' tool. You drag the little cross over the picture, just like you would if you're cropping a photo in editor. You can then save that file directly

Hello. I do not want to try for a prize because I am overseas, but when I saw your pictures to color, I simply could not resist. I did a grey draft horse decorated for Easter. I used colored pencils, pen and ink.

Mel you are more than welcome to enter the competition, it makes no difference at all that you are overseas, I'm happy to send any prizes should you win or be placed
